    [​IMG] Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the Different Processors available.
    Pentium III & 4, AMD Athalon, Celeron.

    The only difference I know anything about at the moment is price, AMD is a whole lot cheaper than Intel at the moment. Although Intel has announced that they will lower prices from 23 august to be able to compete with AMD's prices.

    I am thinking of buying the AMD Athalon processor myself. Because at the moment it is the best at the best price....

    [​IMG] Actually, there are tech differences between Pents and Athlons. Differences are based on differen cache levels, and I wont quote any smart facts, for, honestly, I do not completely understand everything myself :rolleyes:. As far as I got with researches, Athlons usually show better performance for the same price. Celerons are essentially 'lite' versions of 3rd Pents - decent performance, with certain limitations.
    Now, I'd go for buying Athlon rather than Pent4 (they insist its '4', not 'IV' - some marketing trick :)) given the speed is same, but 'tis purely my opinion.
