Hi all. I've searched elsewhere about this bug but haven't found a solution. When I first travel to Trademeet to investigate the animal attacks and attempt to talk to Logan Coprith I get no reply - just "High Merchant Logan Coprith has nothing to say to you." This is my 6th or 7th time through the game (probably the 2nd or 3rd time with SoS installed) and the first time I've encountered this problem. I'm assuming it has something to do with the Shadows Over Soubar install, but I'm almost positive I've played through without this issue previously.

I've tried changing all kinds of Globals with the CLUA Console (Globals that pertain to Coprith, that is) but nothing has made a difference yet. Any help is appreciated.

    Details:
    - Most recent ToB patch installed
    - SoS v 1.04 installed (no TDD or other major mods)
    - WinXP with SP 2 (probably irrelevant)

Kind of sounds like that 'NPC is busy and cannot talk to you' bug. Try installing Baldurdash, found here, though in this way:

    BG: SoA
    BG: ToB
    ToB Official patch
    Baldurdash fix
    SoS

Have tried talking to him repeatedly? Sometimes bothering the NPC works. Also, reloading or leaving to a different map area and returning will solve it.

When you get the 'has nothing to say' message it's usually a good indication that none of the dialog triggers are being satisfied, but Logan should always have something to say to you. Obviously you haven't spoken to him before or killed Faldorn yet. Tried creating a new version of him?

Or you could try setting the global variable "loganjob1" to 1, fetching Cernd and playing through as normal, maybe killing Faldorn will solve the problem.

Well, I killed Faldorn (and the Rakshasa) but Logan still has nothing to say. This is problematic because I can't complete the quest properly and, as I understand it, Shadows Over Soubar can't begin unless the druid quest is finished.

I've tried reloading, creating new Logans (using CLUAConsole:CreateCreature - 'cbfixlgn' and 'celogan'), and altering globals but nothing's working. And the Baldurdash fix was already installed. Strange.

    That is very weird.

Er, this is probably a stupid suggestion, but his CRE file hasn't been messed up somehow, has it? As in he hasn't had his dialog file unassigned or anything?

^ I'm not really sure how to check the CRE file to see if it is indeed messed up--don't know exactly what to look for. Maybe I need to reinstall something? If I knew what to look for maybe I could fix it using the DLTC editor. I've also used NearInfinity to check scripts and dialogs and uncovered no errors involving Logan's files.

For the record, here's what I have for Logan's CRE file ("celogan"):

    Override script: CELOGAN
    Class script: SHOUT
    Race script: WTASIGHT
    General script: NONE
    Default script: NONE
    Dialog: CELOGAN
    Scripting name (death variable): CELOGAN

That's all fine. From what you've said I gather SoS changes his dialog file; if I had to guess (which is all I can do without access to the files) I'd say that'd have to be what's causing the problem, somehow. There ought to be a CELOGAN.DLG in your game's override directory, you might want to try temporarily renaming or moving it elsewhere, creating another CELOGAN and seeing if that one will talk to you.

Well, I copied the old, non-SoS Lord Logan dialogue file back to the override folder and he does indeed talk to me. Unfortunately that dialogue file negates my ability to further the SoS adventure, so I went ahead and installed SoS v1.05. Hopefully this'll straighten some things out (including a bug with Selence Hillstar, and some other weird stuff).

Right-o I had this problem the one and only time I played SoS, but at the time I think I attributed it to the Tashia mod (since her name and some of her items were messed up).

Ok, I've installed SoS v1.05 and have started a new single player game. I just got to Trademeet and--guess what--I'm having the same issue with Logan. For a reason I still cannot discern the dialog isn't being triggered. To make matters worse, all the DLG files from the override folder have disappeared including the backup of the old CELOGAN.DLG file I had. Curiously, both Vincenzo the Inkeep and Willet the Stableboy (from Umar Hills) have the same problem as Logan Coprith ("[NPC] has nothing to say to you.") Those are the only three NPCs that have this problem that I've seen so far.

I don't suppose anyone has a CELOGAN.DLG file they'd be willing to e-mail to me? Or has any ideas on how to fiddle with the existing DLG file (or script or CRE file or whatever) so it triggers properly?

Hold on - now there is no celogan.dlg in your override? That seems peculiar, wouldn't SoS need one there to operate?

I could send you an unmodified copy of Logan's dlg file from regular patched TOB, for whatever good that might do you. Without having a copy of the SoS-modified file I couldn't even guess why it's preventing the dialog from triggering, though.

There are absolutely no DLG files left in the override folder following the reinstall of SoS. As I understand it, the override folder is for add-on files that take precedence over the default files that are located elsewhere. That is, if there's an ITM file named "sw1h25" in the override folder that file will be used instead of the default "sw1h25" (which may be not even be a separate ITM file).

Oh, and thanks for the offer but it turns out I don't need a new CELOGAN.DLG file after all--there are backups in the SoS directory. I forgot that SoS keeps all the pre-install files. I am, however, going to keep tweaking the DLG file, as I hate not being able to figure out (and correct, if possible) bugs.

Yeah, whatever files exist in override take precedence over those in the game's .bif archives. I'm not very experienced when it comes to modding, most of the mods I install just use the override directory; apparently SoS (or newer versions of it, at least) use .bif files instead.

Sorry I couldn't be of help, hope you figure it out. :)
