    [IMG] Hey :)

By start september I have agreed to build a homepage solely for the new science students at our university. Until then I would like a public web host to "train" on.

I have been trying out Geocites but they don't host flash. There are hundreds of free hosts out there if I make a search, so I was wandering if any of you had some really good experiences with a free host.

    I use www.brinkster.com and www.fpages.co.uk

Brinkster are pretty good, but they don't allow remote file viewing like Geocites, however it is pretty user friendly and is normally up.

Fpages likewise is good - -no restrictions and 100 MBs of space IIRC, however they are occasionally down which can be a problem.

Geocities doesn't host flash I have a site through geocities, and the intro page has a flash object embedded  Of course, I didn't put the flash object in until after I switched to the pay site ;) Or do you mean a full flash site?

Umm.. why would a science page need flash?
Anyways all the best of luck to you :)

I've used angelfire (other than a popup, pretty unintrusive, well at least it was) and f2s, which was the best there is. But they all of a sudden just closed down :bad:

[IMG] fpages it is for starters then. Thx I'll sneak into that place right away. But if anyone else knows a good free host please post :)

Gnolyn, perhaps I should experiment some more with Geocities. I couldn't make it accept flash format. Dunno why, it seems.

Invoker, the flash is for a guided tour of campus showing all the important offices and places :)
