    [​IMG] Hourly Quotes are very entertaining, but I have noticed that they are always from BG2. Is there a reason behind this? Or is it because Tal (or whoever puts it there) knows mostly BG2 quotes?

    Wrong; there are also quotes from BG1. The IWD series doesn't have NPCs who travel with you as I understand it, so that's out, but I've always wanted to see some PS:T quotes.

    Yea, they're only from BG1 & 2 right now, but once this is moved to a more prominent place in the updated site layout, I'll add them from Torment too.

    How do they work, BTW? Did you just take all of the scripts from BG1+2, and stick them into a random generator that picks one each hour? Or did you hand select each quote (to ensure quality), and you actually update them without a program every hour?

    If i remember correctly, there is a list of all the qoutes inside a script, and every hour, the script pick a random qoute from the list. ;)
    Please correct me, if i'm wrong :)

    It works somewhat like Lynadin said. I asked a guy to extract all the quotes from the BG1 & BG2 files, but I still had to format them manually and go through all of them since there were some duplicates. But on the upside, you'll also see some quotes there which never actually appeared during gameplay, but were still in the game files.

    Torment is problematic because the NPC click-quotes are just in voice, they're not written down anywhere. I have the quotes list on SP and another resource to start with, but neither is really completely accurate. And if I want anything else that's missing, it means transcribing it from the game's voice files.
