I've heard a lot of friend complaining about our friend the demi-lich and what a pain it was to kill him. It took a while to figure it out, but now that I know how I can kill him nearly every time.

    1 Scroll Magic Protection
    1 Nasty 2-handed sword

I found with a little patience this will work, because even if you have tohers in your group, he'll only attack whoever's right there, and all the spells will fail. It goes faster with a mage casting breach and pierce magic, but will work either way.

    What did everyone else do?

This has been asked 5000 times on the forums. Your strategy is by and far the most common strategy for beating Kangaxx in existence. All it would have taken was one search dude.

Scrolls of protection from undead also work very well, although there may be some issues regarding dialogue if you use one; I can't quite remember exactly.

    I usually polish his scull.

Without protection from magic you'll need a barbarian (or is it beserker) with immunities to imprisonment. And the legendary Crom Feyer.

You don't need any of the scrolls of protection to win this fight.

Spell trap will make your mages immune, and both Korgan and Minsc are immune with their berserk ability.

Those spells will help kill the lich form, but they won't do a blasted thing against the demilich (Who is immune to every spell in the game except time stop, excluding spells that create handheld weapons).

I just gave Korgan Soul Reaver, had my PC use the Spell Trap ability on SoTM, Berserked Korgan and had the two bash the heck out of him.

[IMG] Whatever way you stop yourself from being imrisoned, there is one pretty funny way to defeat him. After you have beat him down to Near Death, equip someone with the Ring of the Ram (which works on almost everything) and fire. The times iI have done it it just shoots his shiny skull across the room and bounces off the wall. It's a riot. :rolling:

I use Keldorn with Carsomyr +5 and Minsc in Berserker Rage and the Rynn's +4 Staff. Cast haste on these two, then cast protection from magic on your character in order to protect him from imprisonment. Place your character in front of Kangaxx and start slashing him with the other two. It should last you no more than 2 minutes-Assuming you are playing standard AD&D rules difficulty-

I know this has been done a countless times, but since someone started a thread I might as well ask this. How can you beat Kangaxx with solo mage still at chapter 2 or 3? I thought of making ,myself a fighting machine with Tenser's transformation (once I find it), but I understand while you are Tensered(TM) you can't use any weapons. Can I hurt him?

Sure you can. Protection from Spells: Abjuration + 4 - 5 Melf's Minute Meteors + Improved Haste and you can sling Kangaxx to bits.

Uh, of course you can use weapons while "Tensered" -- otherwise, what would be the point -- it's SPELLS you can't use....
