How do I install new portraits ?

    I downloaded a packet with new portrais, but don't know in what directory to install it under IceWind Dale 2. A packet that contains 12 .BMP files(images only).

    Go to your IWDII file and make a file called portraits, extract all your new portraits to this folder. start your game and when it comes time to pick your portrait select custom, your new ones should be available.

    OK, so I simply create a sub-directory folder in IWD 2 folder named "portraits" than copy those .BMP files in, and after this, I start a new game and at the time when I create the character, choose one of these .BMP files, right ? I ask cause I don't wanna mess the game...
    BTW...almost forgot to ask ya: Any new patch ready for IceWind Dale 2 ? Now I have 2.01 installed, it works fine, but I saw another release of this: IceWind Dale 2 Gold. A patch to install, to update this "normal" version of the game to the gold version would be excellent....if there's any...

    There is only one patch. And I have no idea what on earth that gold thing would be, post where you've seen it. Going "gold" is the term used when the game is completed and goes into mass production.

    And you can change the portraits in your current game (on the customization screen) without any fear.

    Taluntain, I did a serach with google to look after the newest patch, update... and saw something about another version of IceWind Dale 2 called IWD 2 GOLD version, I read that it was suppose to bring in, new monsters, markets, weapons and so on, but by the hells I do not remember where I saw that damn link. If I find it again, I'll copy and paste it here.
    BTW: Is 2.01 the latest patch for IWD 2 ?

    All the latest patches are listed in every game's Miscellanea subsection on SP. So for IWD2, http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD2/index_misc.php

    And there is no such thing as IWD2 "Gold" from your description. Maybe you were reading about the Collector's Edition, but that one just has some more goodies in the box and one merchant with some more items, but you can also get this merchant off SP. (Check the Editors, Hacks & Custom Chars IWD2 subsection.)

    Note that except the latest patch, you have a fanmade fix on SP that solves the problem with character stuttering at some areas which occurs on some machines.
