^It is sold by the very same monk shopkeeper in the monastery in Hearth of Fury difficulty ONLY. In HoF, ALL sold and FOUND items have their upgraded counterparts, and this is it, 2nd ed. actually worths double XP! COOL!

:thumb: "How to Be an Adventurer" is an absolute lifesaver. You'd have to kill like fifty mind flayers to get that much experience! Plus it's funny.

(My favorite chapter is "Face it, You're Actually Neutral Evil".)

Yes it is VERY funny indeed, BUT it still does not satisfy me that I HAVE to use it on ONE character only(the leader, the one I think is my personal character) and the fact that killing mindflayers give less XP than reading a fun book. I must say that it is, at the very least, unbalanced .

(O'course it is 3E'S fault, you get POOR or NONE XP from monsters if you are high level EVEN they give you a HAARD time. I did not get XP from Yuantis in Kuldahar and noone can say that they are too weak. If they are too weak then why do we have to fight them and if we really have to fight them for NO XP than why are so damn tough?)

SOLUTION: GET the XP mode, it gives you REASONABLE XP even you are VERY HIGH level and makes the game playable with less than 6 characters. (or SOLO!!??)

Oh yes I am getting a little off-topic here but wanted to share this great burden. Sorry.

PS:All these facts does not stop me from using that solid book worths an easy level up. I pay GP right? (and it was rather expensive?)

Also remember that the game actually autobalance weak monsters so your supposed to get a "worthy enemy", not entirelly certain how that works, but IWD2 is supposed to boost enemies that are much weaker than you. thought they forget to boost CR, so you still get no XP for killing them.

Had a corrupt savegame once, so i exported chars and started anew. had to fight goblins anew, you know, goblins with +10 to hit, +10 to dmg, +100 hitpoints, and some save bonuses isn't exactlly that easy to pound into the dust even if they are "CR 1", no xp gain, and alot of work and spells to grind them down. Had the goblins actually remained as weak as they should have been at CR1 then it wouldnt have been Any work at all to grind them :)

^OH really? Are you sure you did not start at HoF? It sounds like HoF if anything when goblins start to have 100+HPs and BIG damages? (though you should have taken some xp if you were in HoF)

I love the chapters that remind me of the original D&D, like the mention of the trusty ten foot pole.

Sorry if this is off topic but the normal goblin in HoF has precisely 157HP

^And thus I have suspected that what mentions Raptor must be HoF indeed or am I wrong? Can goblins have 100+HP in normal if your levels are VERY high? (don't think so, the game just spawns more and more same weak goblins)

Well, i hvent used HoF at all really, i tried it once in IWD1 :-/

Well, im not certain how it works, but the game somehow buff them up. IT took me longer time to kill *1* goblin at level 10, than it took me at level 2 .......
