How to boost a friends ego?

    I have a friend who's always saying she's fat. However many times I say she isn't, she puts herself down even more. How can I make her feel better?

    One thought she was fat because she was too tall, the other too short.

    You just have to be there for them and make sure they don't go too far.

    I have found it isn't best to tell parents, unless it gets to a really bad problem. By that I mean REALLY. Your friends will feel betrayed if you tell their parents and often are thinking like they are because of pressure - something parents don't always seem to get :rolleyes:

    Another way is to become enormously fatso they then feel sorry for you and forget it :sleep:

    Anyhow, what I believe people are doing when they obsess about their figures is looking for a little attention; someone to pay them some time. If they are on the road to anorexia or bulimia, though, well, that's another story.

    bulimia is where you binge eat then make yourself sick or take laxatives. So the difference between them is anorexics don't actually eat, but bulimics eat and get it all out again :)

    :evil: Start agreeing with her, then she'll stop wibbling on about how fat she is coz she knows you're not going to give her sympathy.

    :good: Keep telling her she's not fat. Do a diet together, so she has some encouragement to stick to the diet.
