If you have cheats enabled then you should be able to change the avatar of the selected charecter by pressing Ctrl-6 or Ctrl-7.

The avatar can be changed (using that method) to pretty much any avatar found anywhere in the game, IIRC.

Such as dragons, birds, mice, golems etc.

I'm not all that sure how much luck you'll have trying to find what you described, I can't remember seeing any long haired knights in the game. I suppose it's worth a try though

I'm not talking about a avitar I'm talking about when I'm at the create charater's apperence screen I can't relly discribe it just on the apperence screen (not the avitar) and when I go into my invintory i see a picture of my charater's whole body (not just his face not the avitar) how do I change the look of his whole body if I even can without messing the game up?

If you're talking about the paper doll of your character i.e., the interface where you would equip weapons, armor, etc., there is no way to my knowledge to change that.

Actually, editing paper dolls is possible, it's just very difficult. Basically, you can hex-edit the PLT files.
