How to kill Balor in Underdark ?

    [​IMG] I arrived in the Underdark without too many problems along the way but I'm finding it impossible to kill the demon in the pit area in the gnome settlement. None of my weapons seem to work and as soon as he appears he holds every one (usually) of my characters. It takes him about 30 seconds to kill everyone ! Help ! Thanks.

    Several posts on this subject already...try doing a search.

    I found it necessary to turn into Slayer on two occasions, but the Monk's stunning blow works wonders on it.

    [​IMG] I'm really looking forward to meeting the Balor. Since my racial enemy is Demonic/Fell, most of the fiends I've dispatched so far were jokes.

    I went toe to toe with the Lea' Liyl and the two other tanarr'i and chopped them to bits, and the Glabrezu in the Umar Ruins was a joke (after that I kinda missed Aec' Letec).

    The demons were hurting me just fine, and it wouldn't make sense to make their AC too tough, but I think they need some awesome powers. Their Death Gaze is too weak I think....

    Anyway, I think I'm going to have a great one on one with the Balor by the time I reach him, especially with my Moondog. No way can he be tougher than Firkraag or Thaxill'sylia.

    And one more thing: if the Balor looks like another generic Tanarr'i, I'm going to scream! At least give them varied colours!

    a good way of beating the Balor is to have your Clerics memorize as many Dispels as possible and leave them at the back of the party.

    When the Bal;or appears throw your fighters at it... and when he uses the gaze immeadiatley throw in a Dispel. Just make sure you are protected from evil. Resist Fear spells are useful, as well as Bless and other bonuses.

    He can be killed without the Slayer!

    Hit him once with the Celestial Fury and he's stunned. Hit him again and he's stunned again. Repeat until dead. See why I love that weapon? It's better if you have Haste casted on your fighter though.
