A nice dwarf called Zack in chapter 2 can help you make money pretty fast.
If you have a high enough Charisma (doesn't have to be extremely high - I think around 22/24 is enough, but the higher the better of course), you can buy Diamonds from him and sell them back to him at a higher price than the price you paid for them. I guess it's because you saved his life.

Of course you can raise your Charisma with Eagle's Spendour just before you talk to him with your Sorcerer, Bard or Paladin (generally they should have the highest charisma already). You can also wear an item made from a Winter Wolf pelt (cloak, hat, gloves,...) - they add +1 to Charisma.

Some may see this as cheating, but i look at it as "if it were cheating, you wouldn't be able to do it". So Give all your good stuff to one character, then export that character. Then take all your stuff from that same character and give it to someone else. Then go to modify party and click on the character you just exported and delete them from your party, than create character and import the one you just exported. They come back with all the same skills and xp that they already had, but you just gained another set of items for you to sell for CASH.

    Hope this helped

This does not apply to your first time through the game, but if you go through a second time with some or all of your original members you can make lots of money by holding onto some of the items from the Severed Hand. I collected 4 Great swords of the Soulless +5 from the Slayer Knights of Xvim. When I started over in HoF mode, I could sell those suckers for 50k a pieces. That helped me buy the upgraded versions of the goblin slayer dagger (very useful in chp 1) and the spear in the Targos shop (12 paces).

Another way to make lots of money is the use the addgold cheat, however, cheaters never prosper...

Also, in HoF when you collect the ghost's tear-have the enchantress make you the dagger instead of taking the 500 or 750 gold. The dagger will be +2/+4 vs spectral undead and you can sell it for lots of gold. In regular mode, talk her up to 750 gold instead of taking the knife (unless you really want the knife).

    Hello!

The easiest way to make money is to stockpile any magical or masterwork missiles you can find, and then sell them ALL at once to the shop which doesn't have any missiles of this type. This way you get extra sell price. A good way to make money in the beginning is also to stockpile on yeti pelts in Ch2, put them all into bag of holding and sell them to both traders in the area for max price(they don't initially have any pelts in their inventories).

For HoF, stockpile all magical weapons(you have bags of holding and merc's bag I hope), and sell them when you enter HoF, since all money is lost when you start HoF, and all HoF items are soooo expensive! :) Also I wasted all xtra cash in normal for +5 magical missiles(which you can buy from Riki the Drow in S.Hand).

Gold is almost useless in this game (at least for me) because most of the best items are found in the game but if you really need money ... steal from everyone collect every item from dead bodies and then sell ... pretty boring really :) i'm using ctrlaltdelete:addgold(xxx) at the moment :) because i'm tired of collecting 2gp from everyone.
