How to obtain Mazzy's quest?

maybe i just have to travel with her a lot
but i dislike her very much:
she is 0 in comparison with Minsc/Valygar
is there somebody to talk with to get the quest and will it bring me some good items?

 

Mazzy is a really good *tank* once she reached better proficiency with the short sword. Her major drawback is that she´ll get cutthroat only after killing Bohdi at the end of the game and to that point she´s a superb archer with excellent AC and finally -10 THACO with gesen´s bow.

To get her quest, you´ll have to have her in your party. At some point a halfling will come to call her to trademeet.

Make sure you do that quest before leaving for spellhold by the way otherwise that sister will die and her mother will hate you and Mazzy too

 

In my latest game I have Mazzy with the +3 bow from trademeet which fires phantom arrows... And boy, is she great

The rate at which she fires those arrows is simply frightening. I'll take her to ToB as she isn't bad with short swords either...

 

Well she's a thief, so not as powerful as a pure fighter for she cannot specialize in weapons. But with a good weapon dagger she can do much backstab-damage and normal damage (use celestrial fury (1d10+3) short sword of backstabbing (1d6+3) or firetooth-dagger (2d4+3+1fire damage) and later cutthroat 1d4+4)) and give her some thaco-lowering items and she will be very strong.

 

Headbanger, she is a fighter, not a thief.

 

That's just plain halfling bigotry . . . to assume that just because they are small and quiet that they are all thieves. What would Merry or Pippin (from LOTR) think!?!

Actually, I dumped Mazzy too. I had enough tanks with my Cavalier, Minsc and Keldorn. In hindsight, she might have been a good substitute for Keldorn. I was a bit weak with missile weapons. (CHARGE!!!!!!)

 

Oops... mistake.. think I worked to much today (and that can't be good )

 

I had a brief stint with Mazzy in my good game. Another cool thing about Mazzy is if you take her to the Five Flagons Inn in the Bridge District, the innkeeper recognizes her and gives her a pair of boots. I can't remember if they were boots of speed or boots of avoidance. Does anyone know what I am talking about.

 

Well it's non of them, you get the boots of stealth from the halfling Thunderburp, (not the barkeeper)as reward for saving Mazzy.
