How to play Evil

I know this topic may have been touched on a few times already, but I'm planning on taking on the game as an evil character for the first time. Basically I've completed it so many times as a good/neutral aligned character, I want to add a new dimension to my playing experience

So if someone who knows how best to play through the game evil (which party is best, what actions to take, what rep the Order of Radiant Heart start harassing you, etc) could aid me, that would be great. Shura? You around?

 

if you plan to play evil, make shure you have an evil alignment(duh!!!),a rep. of 1(preferably), and do all the Evil Methods of quests(EX. evil method of Druid Removal in Trademeet, and all of Bodhi's tassks, agree to kill Lord Vulvoa(the "unseemly tak")
your party should consist of:
You-whatever class you choose

Viconia-Great Cleric,Evil alignment

Edwin-Great Wizard-Evil algnment

Korgan-prettygood fighter in higher levels, Evil alignment

(They should have made more Evil characters!!!!!)

and any other EVIL aligned NPC,s you can find
i can't think of any at the moment

 

I'd say keep your rep 6 and under if you want to be a bastard. Kill the Order, the Wizard Police and the thieves. Oh yeah, play with total comtempt for the law. Do the ransom quest and stuff like that and be sure to play with a human because they can romance Viccy and I really don't see a Half-Elf being really evil.

 

i agree with Mystra's Chosen, kill off all types of Policing people(Go to the Government district and you could kill the Magistrate and Cheif Inspector, that would make you a really evil person)
Cowled Wizards,HHotRH(High Hall of the Radiant Heart),and Shadow Theives
Definately go with Bodhi for anything
and always take the EVIL way out of things(preferably KILLING!!!)

 

ATM I'm tossing up between using an Evil Monk, or a Kensai... hmmmm... what do you guys reckon?

I really do wish they added more romancable NPC's of.. all alignment tbh :/

Are there any mods which add evil romancable characters?

 

go with Kensai
monks can't wear any armor ao would probably die faster
and kensais are just pretty cool dual weilding katanas or scimitars

 

Can Kensai's wear armour then? I didn't think they could :/ :s

 

Solaufein can be fitted into an evil party, but he's Chaotic Neutral. He's got a romance.

Kensai can't wear armour, and a monk would definately not die fast!

I'd go with a Fighter/Thief. That way you don't have to take Jan.

People, people... evil is not just about being chaotic and killing everything you dont like.
There are other more subtle ways to be evil while still appearing goody out, or at least dont wave your blackguard symbols around. Most people who do, dont live anymore
But it is more difficult to be subtly evil in a CRPG even if its BGII.

Go read Shura story on CS and mind Arkados character. And Mystra's Chosen... if you want to see evil elven blood see the same story, but observe Kelvaras guy. Though he's not explicitely evil. At least its not detailed in all its greasly details

BTW, class really doesnt matter. All make cool evil characters. I suggest you pick one type you havent played before. For diversity.

Valen mod comes to mind. Otherwise i'm not up to date with any more. (Soluafein is not evil)

It's a really good mod with lots of good confrontations and plus you get a drow fighter/mage.

"CS" is Creativity Surge and Shura wrote a fantasy story that is apparantly very original and creative. Alas, I have never read it.

As for Shura story... i used it as a nice(well, actualy it isnt nice) ) example of evil people who arent so openly showing their evilness. Becouse in a city such as Amn, you really couldnt have a totaly evil party, killing dozens of Cowled wizards and slaying a whole palading order, without the guards banishing you. A fight you shouldnt be able to win.

OMG - I have just read through the first about 8 or so 'chapters - posts' of Shura's Tale and tbh, the work is better than a lot of professional writers I have read. Its addictive, compulsive and very entertaining reading. I congratulate you Shura, you really do possess the qualities to write a full book if you haven't already . If the latter, let me know where I can purchase it! .

BTW, I look forward to your post about playing through SoA as an evil blighter!
