[IMG] I guess the verbose title says it all.

I was fighting Kangaxx and he cast Imprisonment on one of my characters. After the battle I cast Freedom to get the character back, but he just stands there with a blue circle around him and has noting to say to me when I try to initiate dialogue.

How do I get this character to rejoin my party?

Do you have ToB installed by any chance? (In which case this topic is in the wrong forum and will be moved.)

Is it a character you have made yourself? If that is the case I have a notion that they refuse to rejoin after a imprisoning now and then. Reload :(

[IMG] Nope - I don't have TOB installed.
    Yep - he's a character I created.

I worked out a reasonable solution by myself:
    1/
Open a game saved before the battle.
    2/
Export the character you are going to have trouble with.
    3/
Copy the game saved after the battle (where your character refuses to rejoin) from the 'save' directory to the 'mpsave' directory.
    4/
Start this game in multiplayer mode.
    5/
Import the character you just exported.
    6/
Save the game then copy the saved file back to the 'save' directory.
    7/
When you start the latest saved game in single player mode, your errant character will be back in your party

Of course there are some anomalies:
There is a doppleganger of your character who still won't talk to you. Ignore him.
The character you just salvaged is from before the battle so he doesn't get the experience points.

I think these are minor problems. At least I don't have to fight *&!$# Kangaxx again and I get to keep my guy.

:hmm: Perhaps this information could be added to the FAQ.

    Postscript:
I killed the doppleganger (just to kind of see what would happen, you know) and found that he is carrying all the loot he had when he was imprisoned. :money:
Do not take these items - it's cheating. :nono:
I am happy to say I resisted the temptation, :good: but it wasn't easy. He has some nice stuff.

He won't get the experience points anyway. Imprisoned characters are not considered to be part of the party, so they don't get experience points from Kangaxx.
