For a challenge try soloing with an archer. Quite hard to start with but at higher levels can really kick ass!

Inquisitors are fun too, and complement any party ive ever had - although you could just pick up Keldorn

Having a blast with my new F/M/T (first solo, got bored after gaining the staff of the magi, now with a full party from the beginning), always loved my dualled F/M (must have finished the game four times with that one, two solo's two with party), tried the monk (monster after level 14!), druid (the one with more shapeshifting abilities, but wasn't melee enough for my playing style :S), started again and again with a female sorceror (don't know why but my sorcerers always had to be female :>) but again never gotten far because of my melee orientation for my mainchar. What else...ow yeah, tried a F/T, nice but boring after you get the staff of the magi. Hmmm...that staff is way to powerfull for solo games!

I think I'm going to start an evil game soon, never really got those of the ground, never had the hart to dump Minsc!

[IMG] if you really don't like using the staff of the magi, just sell it to a crappy merchant then kill him. A perfect way to follow an evil path and get rid of a slightly overpowered item!

Go with the Jester! He can use any weapon but the composite bow and throwing axe and can cast wizard spells(can't cast lvl 7 and up spells).
My jester is so fun and he even has his own familiar! :thumb:

[IMG] I've started my second game as a thief ... since there is a huge lack of good NPC thieves in the game (at least after spellhold).

Plus, there is a ton on excellent weaponry you can get in the game that a good thief can use (the Bone Blade and that dragger that immoblizes the prey).

A fighter would be a good class to play. Baldur's Gate II has a good selection of spell casters and Clerics, but only two really good fighters: Keldorn and Minsc.

You're right, I forgot Korgan. He is going to be really pissed when he finds out. :(

The Archer kit is just too powerful for me(maybe because i'm soloing), but anyway a Stalker would fit in just nice. A little bit 'o backstabbing and some not-so-very useful spells. It makes the game challenging ;)

Inquisitor wouldn't be much of a challenge. Not with his no-fail Dispel and True Sight. And of course Detect Evil that any good BG paladin uses to count enemies :D

Swashbuckler is probably the best melee class plus it has all skills a thief needs including stealth (but not backstabbing). Use Any Item and voila... Casting, plates, potions...

Blade seems capable although a fighter/mage will do better. Three class combos also seem effective but only on very high levels.
