I'm tired of this place, but after defeating Lavak I now have to get the heart of the demon and power it up.

Problem is: when i go into the basement, I get attacked by 2 Cowled wizards and they totally whip my arse. Nothing I can do is working.

Also...do i have to go outside and kill that demon...get his heart...then go back in?

Both killing these wizards and killing that demon outside is way beyond my characters abilities...

Actually, if there was a way to make my weapons effective on any of these creatures (wizards included) i'd be happy. any tips (no cheats)???

If you're unable to even touch the wizards, they most probably have too many physical protection spells up. Breach is your best friend.

As for the demons, there should be weapons in the sphere itself that have a high enough enchantment to hit them. If you have trouble fighting them, remember to cast as many buff spells as possible on your fighters.

Coincidentally, I just played through that part of the game today. My tip for the demons is to lure the mephits away using one character, and then swarm the demon with a hasted party once it's alone. Repeat this strategy for the two other demons.

As for Tolgerias and his stooge, Tolgerias casts Horrid Wilting, which is what probably is tearing up your party. Summon a creature, and attack the two using it. After that, Horrid Wilting will be cast, and the summoned creature will die, allowing you to rush the two with a hasted party, using breach to reduce their defenses. If you could beat Lavok, you can beat this too.

Incidently, you should always clear out the basement before you face Lavok. Your quest for him is timed (I think it's 16 hours); after that he dies and you don't get all the quest experience for bringing him back to the Prime Material plane.

It's been awhile, but I think I used Yoshimo to sneak in the room with Tolgerias to keep an eye on his buff spells. Once they ran out, sent in some summons to eat up the big nasty spells, then had Yoshi start hacking away and charged in my main force. I think I had to evade a few True Sights, but Yoshi could usually get to the other side of the room before True Sight kicked in, and by then the two Wizards were out of sight.

thanks guys for all the help. Last night I experimented with different strategies.

The one that worked for the mages: I bum rushed Tolgerias's stooge, killed him quick, then without that extra firepower I took out Tolgerias. Then I took out one room at a time...(using live bait)...resting often; so the extra experience points are out of the picture, but I just wanna put this behind me. I'm getting tired of this place :o

Now I gotta go and get me a demon blood pumper. Thanks again for the advice and the time.
