Imoen is stuck...Normal?

Im in the first level where we broke outta the cages and I just passed a library and went down a twisty type corridor and then into a room where we had to fight some guys...(dont remember their names but it was 3 guys...who said "we must stop them" and then there was a huge fight....We won but afterwards my characters rested and regained all thier health, but Imoen cannot move...It keeps saying she is encumbered? What is that about? Is it part of the game? Or is there something I can do?

1) Click on Imoen
2) Click on the inventory button
3) Down the bottom left corner, it will show how much she is carrying plus her weight limit. This will all be showing in red.
4) Drop some of eq, so it goes to white, not yellow, yellow she can still be slowed, and you don't want your main thief and mage in the dungeon to be slowed
5) Have someone else grab the equipment she's dropped on the floor

You can swap eq over between party members while you're on the inventory screen without dropping stuff on the ground as well.

Do it the same way you'd click and drop eq to the on ground boxes on the right hand side of your portrait and backpack, and when you have something selected, click on one of the other protraits of your other chars, that will drop the eq in their inventory.

Encumberance is linked to the characters strength, you've probably used Imoen to pick up or carry more than her strength allows. If you go to her inventory on the bottom left you should see the backpack icon with numbers in it. The number on the bottom is the ammount of weight the person can carry without penalties. The number above that is the current weight on the character. If the colour is yellow the character can still move but is reaching the limit. When it's red she can either still move, although much slower, or she can't move at all. Right click on some equipment in her backpack to get a discription and move the heavier stuff to minsc or another strong(er) character.

 

If you have Minsc with you - use him as the pack-horse. Don't bother giving Imoen much, if anything at all, give it to your protagonist, Jaheira, Minsc and Yoshimo.
