Important: Chatroom problem

    [​IMG] Hey, if you are haveing a problem when you try to join the chatroom that is someting like this; you click to join the chatroom and it says something like "install on demand, Java virtual machine" and then when you click to download it it won't let you or something like that. Well Listen up if you want to fix this. Just go to www.sunmicrosystems.com. Then under the first box(the big yellow one) click the "Java technology from the source. Download and news" button. Then click the yellow bar with the arrow. And download it. When it's done downloading it will come up with the install setup thing. Once it's installed try going back to the chatroom and it should work. Be patient for it can take some time to load. And if you get your problem fixed please reply to this post and thank you for reading it.

    That's one way.

    Another way, which saves SP some money, is to download your own IRC client. The most popular one for Windows is http://www.mirc.com. It's fairly easy to use and setup. And is a good building tool for learning how to use IRC, in general.

    Does SP get money each time someone downloads mIRC?

    Not making money.

    Saving it. Bandwidth costs cash if he goes over his monthy allowance.

    The Java client is small. But some browsers download it every time, rather than using it from cache or plugins.

    Mirc, on the otherhand, is completely seperate.

    [​IMG] Considering the java client is not pulled off the SP server, it doesn't cost me anything except the few kb for the page to load. So in short, freely use QuickChat.

    Btw, the info on installing java is in the Common Acronyms topic.
