[IMG] How does it work? If a characther has a profiency in for example blunt weapons and he is imported does he then get to choose new weapon profiencies or does he get a profiency in all blunt weapons or a profiency in the weapon he has used the most? :confused

You get the proficiency points to reassign. You might get more because they have to be more specific, I don't know.

You can redistribute your prof slots however you like (or the kit you choose allows). This is necessary for BG-2 has much more weapon classes than BG-1 (where large swords included longswords/ two-handed-swords/ scimitars and bastard swords).

Have you played a fighter in BG-1 you had to distribute your four * at the beginning on two weapons classes. Importing that char into BG-2 you can use all * on one weapon of every class available if you like.

Have you played a dc char in BG-1 you have to distribute your prof slots for the first class first and then for the second class.
Take care that, when you assign slots in the first class, you choose weapons the second class can use - otherwise tey´ll be lost if you complete the char that way.

You also have the option to choose a kit for your first class, which offers some nice combinations like swashbuckler-mage/ kensai-thief and so on.
