    just wondering, for 2 reasons.

    1) you're more powerful if you import a guy you went through BG1 with, and I want to know if it's worth it.

2)I've never played BG1 with a mage, and it might be cool.

Sure can. Any reason you aren't playing Tutu, though? With Tutu, you can play a wild mage from start to finish......or start at level one with a sorcerer or monk. Monks are a lot easier at the beginning of BG2 when they have 19 str.......

Absolutely. :) Just make sure you've got ToB installed, and any plain mage from BG1 can be turned into a wild mage on import.

Yeh it's a good idea because of the Tomes and such AND of course if you pause on your entry to SoA you can quickly drop the items you have on your person so that they don't get deleted! Always loved that trick! :D

You are definitely more powerful if you import, as long as you got above lvl 7 in BG1. My first time through I started with an improted character, then I had a PC crash and lost all of my characters.

If you've played BGI more than a few times with the SAME character you might as well be cheating because you have access to each of the stat increasing tomes therefore if you want a strong character and you're sick of working for what you deserve you might as cheat!

But hey, how do you think a fighter with 18 strength is going to fare against one with 21 strength?

But once again i must point out ... Wild Mage?!?! I seriously don't get why people think they're so good!

Lots of spells with no opposing schools, plus Nahal's Reckless Dweomer is pretty awesome.

Just one point of clarification - you can only do it with a plain mage. If you take a specialist mage, you will not be able to take the wild mage in BG2. The specialists are considered kits, as is the wild mage. So if you already have a kit, you won't be able to pick a new kit. But vanilla mage works just fine.

    Thanks everybody

    Re: Drew:

I have downloaded tutu, but I have dialup, and there's always a problem with the download. It takes too damn long, but I should be going high-speed soon, and will give it a try.

    Re: Silversomething:

Wild Mages are fun, you don't pick them for power.
