    Hello everyone.

I've finished BG1 solo with druid and want to play BG2, as well. Now I'm having a problem. When I choose avenger kit the game doesn't reduce my constitution and strength by 2. This is rather inconvenient and seems to be cheating. If you have some idea how to alternate this please feel free to post it here.

    Technical details:

I have installed BG2:ToB with latest official patch and BG2 Fixpack (Gibberlings3). Stats of my bhaalspawn are:

    STR 16
    DEX 19
    CON 11
    INT 16
    WIS 17
    CHA 20

    Thanks all in advance. M

You have pretty average stats anyway -- I wouldn't worry about it. There is no effect at the constitution your character has and you only would only drop +1 point of damage per hit if the reductions were implemented.

You'll find strength enhancing items early in the game which will make any adjustments inconsequential.

If you really want to incur the penalty on yourself (you must be a golfer) then use ShadowKeeper to adjust your stats to the lower amounts. IMO your character is the offspring of a god -- you should use SK to bump yourself up a bit. Your wisdom is quite low for a druid (playing through SoA and using the three tomes on yourself you should have a 21 wisdom by now -- I'm not sure how you get a 20 charisma...).

    Thanks pal.

Well, I get senile at time - my charisma is 19. It's pretty high so I thought it's really high. I've downloaded Shadow Keeper. It's amazing piece of software and I wasn't even aware of its existence. I actually started with lower wisdom to make game slightly more challenging. I don't care about constitution either because some of my animal forms can heal me a bit by raising it to 16+. Then I can concentrate my spellcasting to chromatic orb, etc. Since strength determines how much I can carry there has to be some tweaking with SK AND bonus to hit and damage is problematic too.

Finally, if anyone knows a mod out there that fixes this problem please post it here. I am sure that it might be useful to people reading this. M

Perhaps you didn't suffer the penalty because you already had 16 (or less) strength and constitution? 16 is the max you would be able to have with the Avenger kit.

The two main fix packs pretty much take care of issues that were overlooked by the designers of the game. There are several issues that look to be errors (based on a strict compliance of the rules) which were intended by Bioware. I'm not sure about this issue, but it could be they didn't implement the reduction for a character imported from BG1 to reward the player.
