I try to kill Kangaxx but before I can reach him he has already imprisoned me... is there a protection spell or globe to protect me against this spell?

Thanx... I forgot to use the search engine...

Maybe I have to use some monster summoning to give Kangaxx something else to imprison.

  5. Use Wizard Eye. Or have a sorcerer send 5 of them at him. Very disruptive.

    Or a bunch of Nishru.

At last, I killed Kangaxx very easy. My main fighter couldn't hit him so I moved him away (so he could not get imprisoned.) On my other two chars (Crom Fayr, Carsomyr) I cast protection form magic, wich makes them invulnurable to the annoying imprisonment spell. Only my thief died, so it wasn't that hard. Just use protection from magic....

[IMG] Has anyone tried if Improved Invisibility helps against Kangaxx Imprisonment?

The point is that you can't target someone invisible with a spell so he'd have to dispel the invisibility first.

Will the 3rd level spell Non-Detection stop True Sight from dispelling the invisibility?
If not, it would at least be fun to use Spell Immunity : Divination for once! :D

I used improved invisibility on my main char so he wouldn't get imprisoned but it still happened.... so doesn't work (maybe coz of true sight Kangaxx uses?)

Just use protection from magic, is really all you need.

[IMG] Thanks for the answer on Improved Invisibility, Headbanger!

The Scroll of Protection against Magic will certainly take care of it, but it can be more rewarding/satisfying to find another way. That scroll - of which there are only two in the game - is a "magic bullet".

There are "Fifty Ways To Kill Your Kangaxx", as Kevin Dorner says! :D http://members.home.net/mrkevvy/kangaxx.html

Are there only two? I went to the first shop and bought the two scrolls they had... :)

[IMG] Yes, Adventurer's Mart has the only two copies in the entire game.

But don't worry, most would consider using one of those scrolls against Kangaxx top priority.

A mage casting Simulacrum can get some seriously good mileage out of any scroll!

[IMG] I don't know why you guys find Kangaxx to be a though opponent.
I managed to kill it with Jaheira and his summoned fire elementals(with the help of Yoshimo) alone.

    1. I bought the staff of Rynn, and a protection of magic scroll at the Adventurer's Markt.

    2. Yoshimo set 6 traps around K.'s tomb.

    3. Jaheira took the staff and the scroll and summoned two fire elementals.

    4. Jaheira talked to K.- brought the pieces- K. attacks.

    5. Yoshimo's traps kill the Lich form of K.-K. transforms into a demilich-Jaheira activates the protection from magic scroll and begins to hit K. with the staff of Rynn.

    6. K. casts imprisonment at Jaheira(No effect Ha..Ha)-the fire elementals are moving close and begin to hit K.- he ignores the elems because Jaheira was the first one that caused him damage(although it was between 1 and 2)

    7. The elems hit K. with 4-6 plus 1d6 fire damage/round/elemental. He is dead in no time!

PS: after defeating him I sold the staff of Rynn because I didn't like it's color.

    So long!

    [IMG] Tin Man:

Kangaxx is a tough opponent, probably the toughest in the game. This does not mean it has to be hard to defeat him if you have the right tools.

I defeated him with my solo character and without using any scroll, without using traps only depending on my characters own abilities but I knew what to expect and how to deal with it.

You should ask yourself how you'd handle it without resorting to the use of a "magic bullet" (aka scroll of protection from Magic)?

[IMG] I shall try to defeat Kangaxx with my sorcerer alone. A nice spell immunity, some balls of melf's minute meteors, a few elementals or demons, and Kangaxx is history(again).

It amuses me when people who know beforehand what a monster's weaknesses are say they were easy to kill. I can just about guarantee that anyone going in to Kangaxx ignorant would get their asses handed to them. First of all you wouldn't know that he was hostile since YOU brought him the body parts as he asked you to. You may have been skeptical at this point, but not so that you'd put traps around him. Then his second form would have taken you by surprise and you'd have been imprisoned before you knew what was happening. Scroll of Magic Protection? Since there's only 2 in the game you never would have used it unless you knew you needed it beforehand.

Every monster in the game is easy if you know its weaknesses and come prepared to exploit them. The difficulty is when you play the game without having read the walkthroughs and message boards before installing the game.

BlackThorne ----> that's why the game is most fun when you play it for the first time, because then, you don't know the weak parts of the enemy (and you sure get ya ass kicked first time you encounter Kangaxx)

About the scrolls of Magic Protection, I can imagine that you already bought them (I allways buy scrolls you don't need yet for the future)

For me, the first time is not the best because you get the crap kicked out of you. Reloading isn't all that fun, but neither is being so prepared it's a cakewalk. For me the real fun is knowing what to expect but limiting yourself to what you could use, so that you make it a challenge. Looking for unique ways to beat enemies, that's the fun stuff.
