Improved Summons V1.3 Released!

    V1.3 Changes:
    * Use Weidu version from V1.3.
    * Some AI bugs have been fixed.
    * Deva, Planetar, Solar (Fallen or not) have been slightly improved.
    * Demonic Summons have been greatly changed (Read the details in section VI).
    * Animate Dead Change: Clerics now summon Skeleton Warrior/Boneguard/Banshee at lvl15/lvl25/lvl35, while mages now summon them at lvl15/lvl20/lvl25.
    * Call Woodland Being Change: Casters now summon Dryad/Sirine at lv14/lv15.
    * Elemental Princes have been slightly improved, and spell duration has been extended to 120s.
    * Allow Strength bonus to the IWD version Mordenkainen Sword.
    * Replaced Carrion Summons with Summon Beholder spell.
    * Replaced Wyvern Call with Summon Vampire spell.

    Some mods are tough, while your PC or NPCs can use the special equips or items gained in these mods to improve themselves. But your summons have no way to improve themselves, they relatively become weak, and become TRUE cannon fodders. So, I made this tiny mod, I call which "Improved Summons".

    1> Call Woodland Being
    Before lvl14, caster can still summon a Nymph. (NO CHANGE)
    At lvl14, caster can summon a Dryad. She is immune to normal weapon .
    From lvl15, caster can summon a Sirine. She is immune to +1 weapon and less, and can't be kill by Death Magic spell.

    2> Animate Dead
    Clerics can summon Skeleton Warrior/Boneguard/Banshee at lvl15/lvl25/lvl35, while mages can summon them at lvl15/lvl20/lvl25.
    Boneguard is immune to +1 weapon and less.
    Banshee is immune to +2 weapon and less, and with each hit makes victim doomed(save vs death,not bypass magic resistance) for 3 rounds. A Banshee can summon two Skeleton Warriors to protect herself.

    3> Mordenkainen's Sword
    Before lvl25, caster can still summon a Magical Sword. (NO CHANGE)
    From lvl25, caster can summon an IWD version Mordenkainen's Sword in his/her hand to attack the victim from a long distance.
    Weapon Ability:
    --2d10 slashing damage + 1d10 magic damage
    --to hit +10
    --enchantment 4
    --allow strength bonus
    --increase number of attacks by 1

    4> Angelic Summons
    Deva/Fallen Deva/Planetar/Dark Planetar all have been improved.
    Divine caster can summon a Solar/Fallen Solar at lvl35.
    Arcane caster can summon a Solar/Fallen Solar at lvl26.
    You can only summon one angelic creature at a time, even by projected image.

    5> Demonic Summons
    Baatezu and Tanar'ri will attack each other on sight. All the Baatezu have fear aura and immunity to fire, while all the Tanar'ri have immunity to electricity.
    (1)Cacofiend: 50% chance to summon a Cornugon(Baatezu), while 50% chance to summon a Glabrezu(Tanar'ri). Cornugon casts Blur, Fireball at will, while Glabrezu casts Mirror Image, Lightning Bolt, Power Word:Stun at will.
    (2)Summon Fiend: 50% chance to summon a Gelugon(Baatezu), while 50% chance to summon a Marilith(Tanar'ri). Gelugon casts Fireball, Ice Storm at will, while
    Marilith casts Cloudkill at will.
    (3)Gate: 50% chance to summon a Pit Fiend(Baatezu), while 50% chance to summon a Balor(Tanar'ri). Pit Fiend casts Improved Invisibility, Sunfire, Power Word:Kill at will, while Balor casts Dispel Magic, Fire Storm, Implosion at will. Balor uses a vorpal longsword which has 5% chance vorpal hit(bypass mr & no save).

    6> Elemental Princes
    Elemental Princes have been slightly improved, and spell duration has been extended to 120s. Air prince casts Chain Lightning at will, while fire prince casts Flame Strike at will. When HP less than 50%, fire prince summons 3 fire elemental to aid him, while earth prince summon 3 earth elemental to aid him.

    7> Monster Summons
    Monster Summoning I: Ettercap/Hobogoblin Elite/Ogre Berserker
    Monster Summoning II: Yuan-Ti/Mustard Jelly/Greater Yuan-Ti
    Monster Summoning III: Fire Salamander/Ice Salamander

    8> Animal Summons
    Animal Summoning I:Wolf/Panther/Brown Bear
    Animal Summoning II:Dire Wolf/Lion/Cave Bear
    Animal Summoning III:Winter Wolf/Polar Bear

    9> Summon Beholder
    Replaced Carrion Summons with Summon Beholder. At a lower level, the wizard can only summon a Gauth, but after 20th level the wizard will summon a dreadful Beholder.

    10> Summon Vampire
    Replace Wyvern Call with Summon Vampire. At a lower level, the wizard can only summon a Fledgling Vampire, but after 20th level the wizard will summon a powerful Vampire.
    Vampires have high regeneration but hate to fight in sunshine.

    11> Others
    Replaced the death animation of Finger of Death spell and the likes with an IWD version's.
    Fixed a bug of Tactics Mod.

    p.s.
    I noticed that some enemies in Improved Anvil mod summon Fallen Devas. Installing my Improved Summons mod will make those battles harder instead of easier, so be careful. Luckily those enemies are not high level enough to summon a Fallen Solar, otherwise that would be horrible.

    A question that occured to me while reading the changes you implemented: if my mage is level >25, then do I have to use the IWD version of Mordenkainen's Swordor can I still summon the normal version?

    While the IWD version is certainly very powerful, one of the main reasons I use Mordenkainen's Sword is to act as an almost invulnerable obstacle with which to tie up opponents. To me, replacing this is more akin to nerfing the spell as if I wish to attack, I won't be casting spells- specifically the high level ones that are available at level 25 (such as Timestop followed by IA and then a Horrid Wilting barrage).

    If you intalled the component of IWD version sword, you will have to use it by level 25. If you like the original one better, you can skip that component when installing.
    IWD version M Sword is really powerful. You can cast Timestop followed by IA, and Improved haste+Tensen's Transformation, then you can attack 4 times/round like a fighter plus in Timestop.

    Do I need to install this in a fresh game or is it compatible with a current ongoing playthrough? I know I really should read the README files...but I won't be downloading this unless someone can tell me if its compatible or not.

    OR I could just check later when I have more time...but eh. I'm hoping there's people who would be kind enough to post.

    I never could install Improved Summons old version. The exe file does not work. I tried to download it three times, but the exe file had a different shape than other mods, and it gave an error, and never worked. Was the old version bugged? :(

    I haven't tried the new version though, is it fixed?

    You needn't start a new game. Whenever you like, you can install it.

    @Silverstar
    The old version is not a weidu version, so it may cause some heavy moded game unable to install this mod.
    The new V1.3 is a weidu version now, you can download it and have a try, it should work.

    Great work, Tal Rasha!

    I am glad that the mordenkainen's sword component of your mod is 'optional', because it will surely cause troubles if installed together with Improved Anvil.

    Some of the higher level enemy mages in IA cast this spell without being engaged in hand-to-hand battle. Whenever such high level mages want to attack physically, they either cast BBD (with or without Tenser's transformation) or Energy Blades or just attack with their own equipped weapons in conjunction with Tenser's Transformation. A mordenkainen's sword jumping into the mage's hand not only makes the spell useless, but in some cases it may even take the place of another item which is equipped. Hence, this particular component of your mod is not recommended to be installed with IA. Everything else looks to be fine.
