[IMG] I just couldn't see a reason to give him any points in INT since he won't be able to cast spells anyways. I just started BG2 and want to make sure I won't regret this later.
    My starting stats:
    STR: 18/00
    DEX: 18
    CON: 18
    INT: 3
    WIS: 16
    CHA: 17

Personally I would never give anybody-not even a stupid half orc barbarian-an Int of 3. But that is preference. Just don't have your character go up and fight a Mind Flayer ;). Why don't you use some of the points from Wisdom and give them to Int to even things out some more, since I'm sure you don't want to lower any of your other stats.

How many boards did you post this on :)

Anyway Big B said it all. It's going to be hard to roleplay int 3, but then again that's not what you are doing is it?

Just dont use him to fight mind flayers..

EDIT: Iron Eagle, Did you even read the previous posts before you responded to this? Here is a perfect example of the type of post to AVOID.

Big B just said "Just don't have your character go up and fight a Mind Flayer."

    Did you not SEE that??

[IMG] Ummm... *blushes* I posted it on two boards.

Ya, I wasn't comfortable about the 3 INT either (from a RP perspective). But what I couldn't see were the gameplay consequences. Now I know. There's at least one creature that can drain your intelligence. And only having 3 INT may mean insta-death versus these creatures.

Based on this, I'll probably reroll. Thanks all.

[IMG] Naw, don't reroll. You don't have to. Hell, I had a 2 int. ;) I think your stats rock. Fighters only need STR. CON. and DEX. you maxed them and charisma, the next best thing, out. What fighter cares about WIS or INT? It's not like you're gonna solve a puzzle or talk to birds. That's why you've got party members. A Fighter doesn't have to be smart, he has to be a killing machine ;)

[IMG] Update: I rerolled and got an absurdly high total score which allowed me to raise my INT to 10 and only sacrifice a bit of wisdom.

Now I should be able to beat Minsc occasionally at checkers.

You guys try to get high stats too much! :p
As long as I max out STR DEX and CON I'm okay. of course, CHA helps, but not too much.
As for wisdom and int <harrumph>! Look at me, I was an uneducated, unworldly, unwise dumbass. It didn't make a diff in swinging the swords ;)
It's not Minsc you gotta beat, it's boo. Watch out for his CzeckosHamsterian Defense ;)

[IMG] You could consider lowering the dexterity. Your AC will be fine anyway, so it mostly depends on if you're going to use missile weapons with such a character.

Rerolling a character who got 18/00 strength is a painful decision, isn't it? :)
