Does anyone know where I could get a complete listing of the differences between insane mode and normal? I though it was just supposed to be 200% damage done by NPCs and traps etc. however, I don't remember the Winter Wolf in the area before the Horde Fortress having a +18 BAB. And all the orks and stuff seem to have unusually high BABs.

    Just lookin for some facts.

Insane mode is on the same linear difficulty scale as Heart of Fury, just not quite as bad.

For example, HOF mode gives +20 attack bonus to mobs (on top of the various boosts they get from the autobalancing system if you have high level party from Normal), while Insane gives +10 or so. Likewise, the mobs do 200% damage instead of 300% damage as in HOF. However, the monsters do not seem to gain any more hit points and/or saving throw bonuses in Insane if my memory doesn't fail me, so they still crumble fast.

ok, thats interesting... So do you think HoF is going to be a little easy after Insane mode? I mean because I will be high leveled when starting HoF, while I'll start from level 1 during insane mode. Most people play through the game on normal, then HoF; but I remember normal being way easy, so I decided to just go Insane, then Hof. Have you ever played insane? or do you just play around on Nrm or HoF mostly?

I did a full playthrough with a duo in Insane mode so it's not THAT bad. You're not going to get (nearly) instagibbed by an angry mob as soon as one of your buffs wears out like in HOF mode, but mindless zerging generally leads to considerable thinning of your ranks.

Think about it this way: If you're to check if that HOF-designed party of yours is any good during Normal mode, turn the knob to Insane and you keep the general difficulty level all the way through. Although the tough early part becomes even tougher.. so why not do the switch over to Insane at, say, beginning of Chapter two or three?

yeah... I could do that. But I like a challenge, and I made it past Sheangarne Bridge ok, so I don't feel like turning the difficulty down now. I'll take out the last drum tomorrow.
