    [IMG] I was wondering does intelligence score of a character effects his dialogue options, or just charisma and skills?
    Another thing, I'm restarting the game with an evil party and I can't decide which cleric to take.(I've heard that dreadmaster gets specific quests.)Any suggestions?

    Hm, I am not quite sure about that, but Intelligence does not have an influence on dialog. But there are some side quests which need intelligence. So, there are "cases" were Intelligence is important to solve a quest.

    [IMG] One example of an quest for Intelligence quest is when you get The hell bolter. your guy has to be smart enough to help him solve it. Then you eather get the Special crossbow (better choice) or some gold.

    INT does not play role in dialogues generally (3e).

    But there are some situations, where INT helps do discover some "facts". E.g. when questioning the necromancer (forgot his name) in Targos by a character with high INT, this character can discover, that questioned necromancer hold a spirit in this house. Than you can sqeeze some informations from him about some loot.

    In special cases INT can be use. But these are special cases, not standard dialogues.

    Such special things can be dependent also on wisdom. But I thing there are no such special dialogues in IWDII.

    INT gives you more dialog options, which often reveal some usefull facts (like said before) and gives you some additional XP sometimes. For example: A character with high INT is able to translate the message, which Kolhum got from the dead goblin.

    @Shadow sword
    Intelligence has nothing to do with this quest. My mage has 26 INT and with some items it is 28 but he couldn't help this duergar.
    @Bang
    High INT does not play any role in this quest. Only the race. My human wizard didn't know the goblin language but the elven one did.

    As for your questions DoN I don't know.

    Thanx for replies.
    I've decided to forget about the dreadmaster diplomat and let the sorcerer do the talking.

    I can second that. The translation of the message is dependend of the race of the speaker. The right race starts something like the following:" My race knows the gobling tongue a little bit...."

    On the translation:

    Every race knows some languages. According to 3e, higher INT means more known languages to a character (not implemented in cRPGs - and in IWDII - It would be another nice thing - language management ;) ).

    In this case:
    • If you have a race that full understands goblin, you don't use INT
    • If you have a race that has learned goblin, INT decides how good you understood this message and you get XP according to your translation
    • If you have a race that could learn goblin, but you does not have INT (dumb halforc barbarian) you can write the message and let the mayor's wife do the translation - you get minimal XP for this quest

    • INT also helps with the third body - that was what I meant in my previous post in this topic.
