Intelligence drain? (possible spoilers)

Hello all,

I'm in the process of doing the Unseeing Eye quest in Athkatla's sewers. Killed all the illithids with Aerie in my party and she had her standard intelligence of 16 when she was done. But after we got to the avatar and got the half of the rod, Aerie suddenly had an intelligence of 3! Not a little "red" 3 or anything, just a regular ol' 3. Now is this a bug of some kind? It didn't happen last time I played through. Did some enemy somehow permanently drain my intelligence? Aerie did buy it in the sewers and I had to use Jaheira's Harper's Call to raise her ... does this have anything to do with it?

if I recall correctly, Harpers Call will leave your stats really for an amount of time (5min?), before they get back to normal, but it should to all stats I think.

You should keep latest patches and don't use any (if you use any) 3rd party files.

Though nothing in the game should be able to permanently reduce you intelligence that much. I suggest reloading.

sounds like a bug to me. ability drains are not permenant.

 

I think somebody had exactly the smae problem with Aerie and a Feeblemind spell a month or so ago? Very odd.

 

Aerie bought it ---> died.

 

Aerie's eyes are kina' wierd! I think you should leave her dead(She died prettie many times with my party).
