This recently got posted on the NwN mmo site:

I'm wondering what you guys think about the vid, especially the last part (the symbol in window and the speaker's last message).

Atm I'm thinking possible BG3 reference, perhaps as a major NwN mmo expansion?

I doubt it's got anything to do with a standalone BG3, so more likely part of the MMO in the form of an expansion or the like.

"Dungeons & Dragon will never be the same. After 100 years of chaos and calamity, The Forgotten Realms is finally trying to pick up the pieces.

As publisher Wizards of the Coast continues to develop and refine the D&D Next system, the world of Forgotten Realms is about to undergo a massive overhaul, paving the way for the new edition of the world’s most famous tabletop roleplaying game.

The Sundering will thrust the world into a new era, and Wizard is using all the tools at its disposal to make the transformation complete.

The event kicks off with a series of novels from some of the most celebrated voices in the Forgotten Realms. The six book series includes R.A. Salvatore’s The Companions (available today) the first book in the series, and is followed by Paul Kemp’s The Godborn, Erin M. Evans’s The Adversary, Troy Denning’s The Sentinel, Richard Lee Byers’s The Reaver and finally Ed Greenwood’s The Herald.

R.A. Salvatore’s last four books paved the way to The Companions and The Sundering. Wizards decided to push the Forgotten Realms 100 years into the future, and Salvatore was forced to part with many of the characters he’d created."

It would put forgotten realms back on the map.

Just an other Massively More the same again and again rpg will just be ignored.

ps award the person responsible for killing off one, perhaps the most, loved deity with eternal latrine duty in Zhentil Keep. I stopped reading forgotten realms immediately.

pss refund all who bought 4 edition books or give them the next edition with a discount.

I think the Forgotten Realms are lost to those of us who started AD&D.
The Realms have changed to the point that one feels hardly at home there.

    Meh.
And honestly, how many editions does a P&P PRG actually need.??

I think the biggest issue with the Forgotten Realms for this sort of things is that it feels a need to explain every last change in mechanics in world (Avatar crisis, spell plague, etc). On one hand this sounds good because you are not leaving little holes in the continuity details but on the other hand you have to keep making up crazy plots and major overhauls to explain something that can mostly be hand waived away and not be a problem.

They did that with Ebberon and that helped a whole lot because it made sure it did not remove something the players liked.
