NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO

Would someone please tell caen that his company is dead as it will ever be and just give. This way he can sell the Fallout franchise to a company who deserves it (Troika/Bioware)

If only those debtors would all go to court and sure for Interplays bancrupcy.

    ARGH!

Death to Ineptplay! Bloody hell, MMORPG + Fallout = depthless game. What's the point in a brilliant setting if they're going to destroy it's immersion factor. I can just imagine it now: '<**~~W00tburg3r~~**> R0xx0r! I kilded teh Deathc4w! W00T!'

    *dies*

But then, Interplay probably won't survive long enough to release such a load of ****. Horrah for that at least.

I don't think that a Fallout MMORPG isn't such a bad idea, I'd probably play it, if it was good. However, the market is absolutely saturated by MMORPGs right now, and no way in hell is there going to be a large audience for the game, and not only that, it's not being made by Black Isle or anyone who worked on the original games, and as such, is going to be rubbish.

I'm not really a fan of MMORPGs simply because I like to play single player. As such I'd be the first to go after Interplay with an axe if they try it.

@Apeman: Isn't Cain the head of Troika, not Interplay?

[IMG] This is ridiculous. MMORPGs take years and tons of cash to develop, not to mention the 24/7 support and development needed even after they ship. All Interplay has, and in abundance, is debts. Even if they find some moron millionaire willing to provide Caen with enough cash to pay off Interplay's debts and set the company up in new offices, they still have nothing to work with apart from the licence. They've fired everyone who knew anything about making good games, so it means they don't even have anyone who would make the game for them. And no experience whatsoever with MMORPGs.

Every time I hear about another of Caen's cunning plans I have the urge to find him and start jumping on top of him, shouting WHY... WON'T... YOU... JUST... DIE?!?!, Max-style. Seriously, someone should just pull the plug on this sad affair, it's gone way beyond the limits of farce already.

Sell the brands, pay the debts, and close the company. That is probably what every economist is thinking at the moment of Interplay. Well, at least ONE is. :D

Every day I go on my hunt for news material, I can be 100% sure to learn that someone has closed an IPLY office, someone sues IPLY for debts, someone gets fired from IPLY... Eh, the trouble is that Herve doesn't get fired, doesn't have his salary or insurance not paid and so on.

Just send him back to his hometown with a lifetime ban from executive job or board membership.

To quote Mission Vao, "Just die already!".

    Heh...

If they die, it'd be nice if Bioware kept making some of their games... (IE series and such.)

Hmm. Didn't some big company buy Interplay just a while back? If that's the case, then at least they would have the funds to back this Fallout MMORPG.

While I don't have much hopes for this project, now that I think again, there is an alternative to what I previously said. What if Fallout MMO would be the first successful violent mature MMO. With many of the gangs and factions etc already in place, there is potential there.

The real question, I think, is wether the target audience will be the original Fallout fans, or not. As Fallout 1 & 2 certainly had the sort of hardcore roleplaying value and immersion that no modern-style MMO can hope to achieve. It's quite possible the MMO won't have anything in common with the original Fallouts, save the setting and name for some free fame. And that's not much.

Titus bought Interplay, and they're bankrupt too.
