Is it me or are wands near to useless?

Put it this way, everytime i have a wand and i use it, it goes poof after one charge! Are they all like that! i mean its worth more to sell them unidentified then to identify and then sell them! Whats happened? Are wands disaprroved in er ... Amn?

Sniper, if you have a wand in your quick slot, it should tell you how many charges it has left, if there is a little numer one in the lower right hand corner then, its simple. Dont use it yet. Go to a store and sell it, then buy it back it wil have 50 charges.

The only wands I ever found a use for were fireball and cloudkill wands. The others I usually got rid of for cash. They just took up room, where as my mages could cast the same spells.

Nah, some wands are great. Take the wand of lightning for example - you can target multiple enemies, or the same enemy up to 6 times with it and then it'll fire 6 lightning bolts with only one charge. That's pretty darn powerful in my opinion. Great for taking out wee beasties like a red dragon or so. :)

Wands can provide you with the decisive blow in a battle. Especially in situations where your weaker characters are at risk, a wand of monster summoning which quickly poofs in a couple of mosters to take the attention away from the mage, will prove very usefull.

Sell them and buy back, because they, like potions, can prove vital in battle.

Wands are deffinatly usefull, but in my case I am allways saving mine for some special occurance or (more often) I simpally for get them untill after the battle. So more often than not I dont use them and find otherways to do the battle.

[IMG] True, some wands are pretty much worthless, but others are very powerfull, and useful. I use the wand of spell striking a lot when battling a high level mage or a dragon. :rolling:

I personally love the Wands of Fire, Ligtning, CLoudkill and... darn... the cold damage dealing one...

And I will say that I have NEVER used the sell-and-buy thing. Never.

[IMG] Ah well, I did ... as a result of me playing thieves ... hehe ... anyway, I agree that wands are very effective. My favourite is probably the wand of cloudkill, only challanged by the wand of fire, lightning and the wand of the aprenti.

I found the wand of frost worked wonders demoralizing firegiants ... well, some like it hot ....

Wands are taking too much space?? You have Bag of Holding - use it. They are very nice (especialy for soloing) and have A LOT of different abilities. Need firepower? Get the wand of lightning. Need protection remover? Get the wands of spellstriking and cursing. Need something else? Get the wand of something else.
