[IMG] I heard that Bioware were suppose to be making a new BG type game, sort of like a BG3 if you like but I’m not to sure exactly on what it is maybe its just nonsense but I read some of it on the Bio forums and couldn’t quite understand maybe someone here knows more about it.

These days Bioware only make NWN-type games. I don't think that making another Infinity Engine game would hurt their bottom line, but it won't happen. They're also in the process of releasing Knights Of The Old Republic for the PC, but this is completely different.

Black Isle are finalizing Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2. Perhaps this is what you were thinking of. The "Dark Alliance" games are not very similar to the Baldur's Gate series that we PC gamers love so well - they're much more action oriented and designed for console play. Still pretty good, though.

There ARE some games under development that haven't been made public yet. The Van Braun project to name one (rumor says it's Fallout 3) and I've heard something about another BG like game.

Yeah well mr. J.E. Sawyer just resigned as head designer on van Buren :( (fallout III) which btw is made by blackisle.

I'll have to see if it's ever released without the influence of a designer who worked on the first two fallouts.

If it ever comes out, Fallout 3 will almost certainly come out under the Atari label, with the consequence of being shoddy, bugged, rushed and overpriced.

I have also heard the rumors of a BG3, but it will not continue the Bhaalspawn saga (which ended with ToB).

I'm surprised at you bringing that old chestnut up again. If there WERE going to be a Badur's Gate 3, don't you think we'd have heard something from official sources? It would be the biggest and most eagerly anticipated release of any year.

    Rastor...

How do you hook up all these sources? I've heard you talk about stuff that nobody else knows. Do you frequent their forum or what?

If they were going to make a BG3 I think that would have already have been done by now. It's highly unlikely that there will be on IMO.

I did read in a recent issue of the magazine "game informer" abou an upcoming Fallout game. If I remember correctly, it was for one of the game consoles. My friend is borrowing the magizines, I'll get them back from him and get more info.

Rumours about BG3 have been flying around since the month BG2 was released, so for a few years now. One of the BioWare people specifically stated in a post on their message boards a few weeks ago that they are NOT WORKING ON BG3 in any shape or form. Not that the CEOs of BioWare coming to the house of the people spreading BG3 rumours and saying it would convience them, but still... It's clear that at some point in the future BG3 will be made. But the only way to know for sure is when an official announcement will be made. Anything prior to that is just guessing. Guessing which has been going on for 3 years now without any proof whatsoever to back it up.

Jefferson was the name. A shape that there are so many games that you won't get to see because they got cancelled (IE. Torn)

Well, if they make a new game, it probably won't be using the infinity engine, now that they have something better. As I see it, they would use the engine from NVN in a new and improved version, maybe even supporting a whole party this time?

BG3 using the NWN engine? Yuk! Every other rumour I've heard about BG3 seems quite interesting but if they use the NWN engine they'll ruin things.

Who said that Bioware was gonna make BG3? I can't really figure WHO made the first 2 games but I think it was both Bioware and Black Isle.

I agree with dshadow. If they use the NWN engine I sure wont play the game. I had big hopes for NWN but it turned out to be one crappy game.
Thank the gods, in my case that is the BG team, for Baldurs Gate 1 and 2. 1 more game like those and I´ll be set for life.

And btw, I heard Project Jefferson was gonna be "Fallout 3"...

I think I read something about GUESSING in this thread. Or what do you say Tal :D
    But let´s keep hoping fellas!

Hey, maybe Elvis is making BG3 in Santa's Workshop.

Although I don't believe that there ever will be a BG3, I would be VERY happy to be made to eat my words. Just so long as it used the Infinity Engine.
