Is Tenser's Transformation a good spell for a mage?

So, far I have been using these spells most.

    Mirror Image

    Stone Skin

    Armor

    Shield

    Blur

    Vampiric Touch

    Skull Trap

Melfs Minute Meteors (Does not seem to work often)

I also try and have someone cast Barkskin on him. I haven't really figured out how to crunch the numbers but those seem like the best buff skills mixed with a couple attacks.

Melf's Minute Meteors replaces your main hand weapon with the meteors. I think the reason your character isn't throwing meteors every attack is because you're dual-wielding - your character will sometimes strike with his off-hand weapon instead of throwing a meteor. This is a bug, and causes your off-hand weapon to strike (and perhaps hit) as if it were a ranged weapon. It might be best for your fighter-mage to avoid the spell completely since the number of meteors the spell generates is determined by your mage level, which will usually be much lower than the mage level of other casters in your party (have them memorize it instead). Try giving your fighter-mage spells that don't rely on the caster having a high caster level like Haste or Slow.

As for Tenser's, for a high level mage and depending on the situation, yes. For a fighter-mage multiclass though, no. The spell uses your caster level to determine the bonuses you get, and that means your fighter-mage uses his mage level - which will usually be lower than his fighter level. This means Tenser's Transformation may actually decrease your stats instead of improving them.

Ok thanks. I was able to get Melfs to work now. You just gotta click on yourself. It gives meteors to both hands. My mage level and fighter level are actually the same because I am a multi class not Dual so that changes things doesn't it? Because then my Fighter/Mage should usually be around the same level.

Leveling up will be slower for the mage side of things going forward -- if you look at the experience tables provided in the manual (or found on line) you can see at what point the fighter levels start to pull away -- I think it's around 14th though.
