There are no Windows XP patches for the game, but one patch for all OSes.

 

teekc, are you suggesting that it doesn't work on your winXP? If your answer is yes, please post the graphic and sound card you use (start->run->dxdiag).

 

Well, i suppose i have to specify my case. My PS:T is from a USD 10, 2 games (PS:T and Soulbringer) bargain that i've gotten from Walmart. After i installed, i proceed to Interplay to find a patch. But it says "Note: Not for use with 2 CD version of Torment". i didn't download nor run the patch because my PS:T is 2 cds. i don't not have the crashing information as i uninstalled the game now. A minor (might be) problem is i am using chinese windows XP.

The 2CD version is already patched, that's why the patch is only for the 4CD version. Not that this helps you...

 

teekc, I found a patch for Win xp, but it will
change your gametext into traditional Chinese, the
patch does work with the 4CDs version(either
English or simplified Chinese ), but the 2CDs...

I also bought PsT and Soulbringer from Wally World. And I have PsT loaded on my machine right now. It works outstanding.

But, of course, it's English.

I'd tell you to upgrade your Detonators and SB Live drivers, first thing. There are definately versions that have come out since 2001. You could have some compatibility problems in there, especially with SP1.

So, teekc, did you ever get it to work?

I've got an AMD system with a SB Live Value, and the 2cd version. I just got out of the morgue, and into Sigil this evening (didn't have time for anything else).

It's playing wonderfully, and the EAX is working perfectly.

I'd say you have some driver problems in there.
