Is there a way to hide the icons over portraits?

I thought I read something somewhere about "hiding" the effect icons that show on your pictures?

Pretty sure it's a component of a tweak-pack. Sorry, can't remember which one! I've never used it, I find the icons useful; I have seen such a component somewhere, though. Do a little internet searching, or try from the lists "BG2 Rules And Tweaks" or "Post-BP Tweaks" here.

It's part of the BG2 Tweak pack. If you scroll down a little, you'll see the item Disable Portrait Icons Added by Equipped Items, which is probably what you're looking for.

    What henkie said.
You can even omit all other mod components and install just that one.

It only works for vanilla items, I think. I've got lots of mod equipment from BG1 mods (which I installed before BP tweaks), and their icons are still clogging up my portraits.

you can try deleting states.bam and states2.bam, but it may crash, so the tweakpack approach is better. Of course that component needs to be done last or later mods will add their own frame versions to the symbol "font".

Yes it was indeed the tweak pack. Thank you all very much. Much appreciated :)
