Protagonist: Elven Fighter/Mage. He dual weilds katanas and flails. I'm salivating at the possibility of casting the spells simulacrum and time stop!

Korgan: Love dwarves, I love fighters. I plan on having him (eventually) dual weild axes and longswords. Too bad he's Evil, but at least he won't fight anybody in my party. Besides, his POV makes for interesting banters!

Keldorn: Love paladins too. There's a holy sword in this game, how could I pass that up? Spending all points in two handed style.

Anomen: I mulled for a while over this, and decided I'd still like to have a good undead turner. Anomen will stick all his slots in Warhammer, and will switch to the Mace of Destruction +2 when undead show up (and switch on that Turn Undead!).

Jaheira: My romantic interest. Of all the experimenting I've ever done in this game, Jaheira has always been there. I find her romance very interesting, and I find her character very useful.

Imoen: I need a mage, so why not take my sister along? I'll use Yoshimo (most of the time) up until Spellhold. Until then, the protagonist will be my only mage, so things might get hairy (but if you leave for spellhold ASAP, you don't really need too much wizardry).

Watchya think? Is this party a good one? Will I make a lot of good use of a lot of equipment (considering proficiencies?

Swap Korgy for a good fighter, since it seems like a good party. Otherwise, great setup.

    Thanks for the quick response.

I was thinking of switching Korgan for Minsc. Minsc is good (alignment) and he's a very good fighter as well.

The cons to Minsc are: He'll advance slower than Korgan, and I like Korgan's proficiencies better (nobody else has Axe, my party already has TwoHanded Swords covered with Keldorn, and Maces covered with Anomen).

I know I'll get a lot of proficiencies in the game, so the oint might not be a huge one, but I'm just not sure which way to go. Korgan is evil (alignment), but he'll stick with my party, with a minimal problems (I just need to keep the Rep. 18 or lower).

They're both good, banter wise. I don't think I'm losing anything with either character in this respect.

I'd go for Mazzy, your front line is a little crowded for my tastes, although she can hold her own in melee if that's what your looking for.

    I agree with Elendrile.
I would also choose someone who is effective in ranged combat too.

Well a good combination that I know of would be

    Aerie
    Imoen
    Jan
    Kelsey
    Haer Dalis

This was with the Imoen romance installed and no you do not have to romance Imeon for the extra dialogs, you can still get about 15-20 minutes of extra talk at the very least with Imoens romance mod, and Aerie together.

This may be a difficult part to play however unless you like magic and know the in's and out's of Haer Dalis's class, so it may be a good idea to use a powergaming character in this case like the infamous F/M or R/C, because of the lack of fighters, or you can replce Kelsey with Minsc if you romance Aerie or Imoen.
