It’s the worst thing in the world to loose a loved one but well this is taking things to far…

    Barmy...

    - Seems like the site is down at the minute, so here's the story...

    Weird But True
Dead wife as a coffee table

Jeff Green is a 32 year old american, in Arizona, whose wife passed. Due to the great pain he suffered due to her death, he did something totally out of character for a normal and sane person. He said, "I could no longer take the pain that my wife's death caused me and I brought her back home." This is where Jeff's story takes a twisted turn. His wife, Lucy, was born with a heart condition that cut her life at the young age of 29. Lucy's last words to Jeff were, "We will meet again in heaven." These words served of no consolation to Jeff's despair.

At the funeral, in an act of desperation, Jeff decided that he would not let Lucy leave him. "I called the cemetary caretaker and explained my feelings. I spoke with the authorities and got special permission to take my wife home with me. They thought it was strange, but I was allowed to take her with me. I'd rather have her at home than seven feet under ground. Lucy had a great sense of humor and I'm sure she would appreciate being my coffee table." Jeff ordered a special glass casing that eliminates the decomposition of a dead body. "It cost me about $6,000.00, but it was worth it."

Some of his friends and relatives, filled with fear, stop visiting Jeff. His true friends respected his decision and continue visiting him. Some even coment that it is a nice piece of furniture.

Are we sure this is real and not just another internet myth? If it is real, it's pretty crazy.

On a related matter, I got in big trouble last time I started a thread called "Only in America....." because I was accused of US-bashing.

    Seriously?
    That's a bit out...

It looks real to me anyway, Harbs. The site is up now, look at the pic, it's sick! Unless it's one of the computer graphics malarkey things.

I might keep a huge portrait hanging on the wall beside my bed, but not the actual body. Coffee table would be irreverent, as well. If it weren't coffee table, I would think the man is just desperate. But coffee table of a human body? But I really don't want to comment on what goes on in people's minds after such a tragedy.

Maybe where you live late night thinker.

Didn't the Argentinian dictator wannabe Juan Peron do something similar to his late wife Evita?

Ruin all the fun and speculation why don't you. :D

I really did doubt that they would let some one keep a dead body. I mean heck, IIRC, there are strict laws against burying anything primate or higher in your yard.

Have to admit that I find the idea of keeping a real human corpse in a home a bit disturbing. And besides; it's not a really good way to respect the memory... Urban legend or not.

When I go, I want to be cremated and made into a big, flawless diamond! I'd like this diamond to be fitted into a low hanging women's necklace so I can snuggle between my two favorite places! ;) :spin:

Okay, I was mostly kidding about the necklace part, but I am mostly serious about the diamond part...

Hmm. I dont find that so dramatic as the first event but it still is kind of weird. And of course...it could only happen in America.
