If someone were to create a mod where you can travel throughout all of the forgotten realms regions in Baldurs Gate. Like travel back to the areas in the original game by clicking a region on the map. Back to the city or Candle Keep. Just imagine if you could also travel to the spine of the world with your baldurs gate characters. If you have Icewind Dale installed just click the little 'boat icon' or something. Ahhh, to dream.

    That mod would be HUGE.

Not the "best thing ever" but certainly interesting. I think the mod would be "huge" in terms of the size of the file. It may help to have each game and insert an area that could be used as a waypoint between regions.

Small problem though. Icewind dale takes place about 50 years or so, before the BG games. Maybe more. atthe time of BG 1 and 2, Targos and Easthaven etc, are much larger than in the icewind dale games.

Well, Never Ending Journey does take your characters back 50 years and into Easthaven. I always had compatibility problems with it, though.

That reminds me, there was a mod called BGT-BP that combined all the BG games and several BG2 mods, including Neverending Journey, into one game, and another one of the mods was a map that had all the locations for all the games and mods. I don't think you could travel anywhere at anytime (I'm pretty sure you couldn't revisit Candlekeep from Athkatla, for example) but it would show all of the areas you could visit in all the games.
