Now we've all heard stories before about teachers having sex with students. But I find it interesting that there's usually more outrage when the teacher is a man and the student is a woman. I, personally, am more likely to be bothered by that as well. Why that is, I can't say - it just doesn't bother me as much when a woman teacher has the relationship with the boy student. But it should. Why is that?

Nothing more? She has to have some old "geezer" hooked up in the background to pull out that kind of money.

Plus fines and jail -pretty harsh, especially since the boy can brag of having lost his virginity a lot before any of his fellows. Sick, I know; but for a man it doesn't seem so bad. Three more years and he will be chasing after other teachers too.

Presuming that he isn't doing some South Park joke -hope some remember that episode.

 

Pretty much every school boy's dream. I think there was only one that I thought was fairly hot, and she was likely 26 or 28.

If he had been smart, and kept his mouth shut like his life depended on it, it might have continued for quite a while. Probably nothing "permanent", but certainly educational.

I think that if both are willing and understanding of what they are doing, it's their frigging right to do so.

Why did the kids rat on her (if they did)? Maybe she was no good. Or maybe she was becoming too high maintenance.

 

What teenaged boy doesn’t dream about this scenario? (Well, maybe chev, who dreamt about nuns (hail Mary, full of grace, pull up – oh, never mind) ). Whereas with teenage girls and male teachers, the focus is on the teacher as some sort of cradle robber. Teenaged boy - conquest. Teenaged girl - victimized.

There is something very wrong with two people having good time together if good time includes sex and one of those persons is below a certain age, while the other is nine year older.

It's not normal for a 23 year old woman to be attracted sexually to a 14 year old boy so strongly as to result in intercourse.

It's clear she wasn't in for love, but for sex, so I bet the predator and prey scheme is fulfilled in this one. The boy probably thinks that he is the predator, though, and a very lucky one

Imagine how different it would be if a 23 year old male teacher had a sex-only fling with a 14 year old male student. Oh damn.....

Time to put an end to myths and do some good cleaning up, I say. Women are in for sex as well, and they want sex-only relationships more or less the same as men, as, quite simply, they generally want sex as much as men.

Nine years difference in this young age, both of them, eeeek... It's sick.

Plus, the woman was lawfully married a whole damned month before moving on to shag some kid. That's really, really sick.

As someone pointed out, if the genders had been reversed the teacher would have been nothing but a dirty old man. But as a boy you are supposed to enjoy sex at all time with just about anyone while girls are victims no matter what.

Sexual abuse of children made by women is a lot more common than we think. There was a documentary here a while ago and experts evaluated that fully 20% (not completely sure about the number but it was thereabouts) of sexual abuse was committed by women. The problem with it not being brought to notice is that boys, even as young as 8 or 9 thought they were supposed to see it as a good thing that they "started early with sex". Just as many of the posters here who say "lucky boy" and "dream situation" and so on.

Our gender roles are firmly in place, and believe it or not, there are times when males are at a disadvantage becasue of them. Further incentive for men too to support womens liberation and feminism.

There is definitely a double standard about such things...After reading the article, all I could think about is how I would've reacted had a teacher looking like her approached me...And as probably any 14 year old boy, I'd would have gone for it!!

I have to agree with Bel on this one. I dont think the boy is all innocence in this episode.

Yeah, he knew what he was doing, but I still completely blame the teacher. The student would not have done anything if she did not start the relationship in the first place, and I seriously doubt that the student would have asked her to have sex on his own. Every time they had sex, she requested it from him (check the link to the police report for verification). She started the relationship, she took it to the next level, and she could have and should have stopped it before it ever became sexual in nature. The 14 year-old with raging hormones is to blame here, when it is the adult that is acting far more irresponsibly than him? Hardly.

EDIT: Not to take this in a different direction, but given the charges, it makes me wonder if she would have been charged with anything if this was only done in her home. I don't know what the consent age is in California, but it is 14 in most states, meaning if they didn't have sex in public places (the school, public park, on the freeway with the cousin driving) there may not have been anything to charge her with. I'm not saying there is anything morally correct about this situation, just that I think the fact taht it was done in a public place is what made it illegal, not the fact that they had sex. To further that note, would it also not be similarly illegal for the 14 year-old to have sex in public? Sure, he's a minor so he would receive a milder sentence, but it still should be illegal.

I didn't mean that it's the kid's fault for getting involved. This teacher should be held responsible for her actions. I just meant there is a double standard in these types of situations. If it were a 23 year old man having relations with a 14 year old girl, that in my mind, is much worse than a 23 year old woman having sex with a 14 year old boy.

There's no rationale to it, but it seems "worse" when it's an older man with an under age girl than vice versa. Mostly because even at 14, boys are thinking about "scoring."

I was agreeing with you, and I understood the meaning behind your previous post. In fact, I was supporting that thought in the first paragraph of my initial post on this topic. Surely, if the sexes were reversed, and it was a man having sex with a girl, as opposed to a woman having sex with a boy, the man would have been charged with sexual assault or the like.
