[IMG] Alright, everything worked fine until i patched IWD-HOW and put in TOTL, but now whenever i try to leave and area the computer freezes and i have to reboot to get it to respond to me. Also if it actually gets out to the map, as long as i do not click anywhere or pass over an area icon, it will move the pointer, but when i click anywhere or just move over an area icon, the computer freezes again. Ruled out hardware failure because all other programs work top-notch, and i have several other infinity engine games which work as well. Anybody that has had this problem, has the solution, or just has a good sugestion, please reply *asap*, pulling hair out as i type!!!

Never heard of this before, but try the classic approach for most annoying problems. First delete everything you have in your game's cache folder and see if there's any change. If not, uninstall everything and reinstall everything. Make sure to keep your savegames safe.

It's a long and annoying process, but it usually solves 90% of problems nothing else can fix.

[IMG] Thanks for the suggestion, and if any other problems occur i will try that, but visiting your page to complain, i saw alot headings about sound cards and decided to fiddle with that after i logged off. Anyway, a suggestion you might try and put in your bag of tricks, is for all users(IWD-HOW-TOTL) who have a standard ESS1869 Audiodrive,(may work for all ess audiodive, but will only speak for what i have) is to go in and disable the "Voice modem serial wave device", doing this fixed my worldmap lockup problems and improved all-over performance in the previously sluggish areas. Happy to report.

    Riptor,

If anybody knows why this helped post a reply, me a techhead dweeb, and i want to know why this effected game, baffles me but glad i tried it!!!

Hey Tal-- thanks for editing my post--not--just cause you are a MOD or this is your site, or whatever-- does not mean you need to scrutinize every post.

What if I was having the same problem? and was trying to get a fix?

BTW, I realized he posted sometime ago, but seeing as how this problem has been a MAJOR thorn in the side of BIS since HoW came out...

I've been trying to get a fix for this for some months for MANY people, and there have been very few answers so far!
