Jaheira Romance problem

    Dermin showed up the first time but refuses to show up a second time to take Jaheira to Harper's Hold. I've waited around for weeks for him to show up, and even exhausted all of the love dialouges. Is there any way I can simply force him to show?

    Yes, I have the latest patch installed, though I assume that the typical Jaheira Romance problems aren't an issue in the Mac versions of the game.

    I've been waiting for him around the outside of the D'Arnise keep, and the last dialouge I had with Jaheira she questioned my Bhaal heritage. I downloaded the romance guide from this website and it said that Dermin should've shown up in 6 days (didn't happen) or have been forced to show up after that particular dialouge, which also didn't happen.

    did you get the Bandit Quest yet? and have you tried using the Baldurdash fix?

    Another thing to keep in mind is that it was designed as a preventative fix. The ideal time to install it is before you ever start the game. However, it can, but doesn't always, fix a problem after it has occurred.

    I've had exactly the same problems - it gets to the dialogue that ends with Jaheira saying "Chaos in their wake indeed" and then loops. I put the Baldurdash patch on it and it still didn't work for me. I even asked for help, and was given a list of CLUA codes to get Dermin to spawn and the romance to progress. Short of manually advancing the romance counter, the romance kept stalling.

    The only sure-fire way I've been able to fix it thus far has been to uninstall and re-install the game, which makes it work just fine. Guess how often I romance Jaheira now?

    @ Beren: Think I'll give that link a shot...

    lol- get Viconia in your party (with the three of them together, Jaheira becomes much nicer towards Aerie... I wonder why)

    Ok, this is my first time trying to romance Jaheira, and my problem isn't Dermin showing up...it's Meronia.

    I'm on day 36 or so, and I was solidly on track with the romance beginning around day 8 or 9 or so. The romance hasn't advanced lately, and while I know that the walkthroughs say Meronia might not show up for a while if the Jaheira romance starts before the Harper Quests, this seems an inordinantly long time now.

    Yes, I did the first Harper quest, which resulted in Xzar's death. And that happened by Day 10 of my quest. After nearly a month, shouldn't Meronia have shown up to summon Jaheira back to the Harper Hold? I'm running out of things to do in Athkatla, and I've exhausted all the quests in the countryside for now (haven't gone to Spellhold yet).

    Any ideas/help aside from telling me to romance Aerie or Viconia? ;) I have another character in another game working on Aerie, and with yet another character, I'll be enjoying my ToB portion of romancing with Viconia. :)

    EDIT:

    Answered my own question. I went to the link in Beren's post and read the info on the Jaheira Global coding more closely. Used the CLUA panel to force open the Harper Hold door and to set Jaheira to the post-Meronia return to the party.

    After that, used the CLUA to force the romance talks until I got to the next couple Harper encounters. Should be more or less caught up now. Hopefully, the rest of the Harper events will happen on schedule instead of having to be forced.
