[IMG] Yer, I know Jaheira's a fighter/druid so she hasn't got the turn undead ability. I installed one of those custom scripts, because I don't want to be clicking my way through every kobold in the game (I know they're mainly to be found in BGI but I can't think of a weaker enemy right now) and the script makes her use the turn undead ability (with excellent result I might add), which is not quite meant to be.

    Next thingie:
I have the what's it called? infinity explorer or something. When I am looking for an enemy I have to scroll down all the codes. Is there a way to search by name, or maybe a sheet with all the names alphabetically sorted? Help would be welcome.

    Wild Mages:
I have a wild mage in my party, first time ever. She rocks. I love the way I end up casting gooberries instead of limited wish, lol. Anyways I get the messeges spell level increased by x and same with decreased. Does a wild mage fluctuate in the level at wich she casts spells?

I hope I'm not asking questions already asked a million times, and if I am be nice ok? ;)

Yes, that's normal for a wild mage. The caster level changes randomly from -5 to +5 or something. Can't answer the rest as I don't use cheats/hacks.

    Thanks for the fast reply

I don't believe using another script is actually a hack, and is certainly not a cheat, unless it deliberately abuses the game.
The infinity explorer allows you to get info on the game, it is also not a cheat or hack.
    All just for the record.

Infinity Explorer can't be used to search through CRE (creatures) or ITM (items) files by names.

The only util that allows such browsing in Near Infinity . But note that NI is not self-standing util, you need Sun's Java Runtime Environment to make it work (the link to download it is there too). Be warned that such Java Runtime Environment can screw up java pages viewed from internet explorer, so DISABLE it as default Java module either during the installation or later in internet explorer options.

[IMG] Almost. The-tool-which-name-I-won't-mention (aka "THE EVIL CHEAT UTIL" ) in fact allows such browsing too ...:good:

    You must be joking.

ShadowCheater can browse creatures by their names? Odd...

How is ShadowKeeper  evil ?
Well, I suppose if you use it to edit things...

Anyway, with Wild Mages the tables are in the little ToB handbook, I think Wisdom effects Wild Mages in some way, I'm not sure but I think it might...

Jahi has turn undead ability ?

  10. ivanatora, Jaheira does not have Turn Undead as an ability, but the scrit that he had installed used Turn Undead, and I would venture a guess that it just forced Turn Undead

It is not so odd because no matter your class you may force many things from the scripts that are not allowed by the rules.

I've had intensive programming in java at school, but that makes me wonder... Isn't that a case of bad programming? Things like that shouldn't be possible right?

    Actually, no.

Scripting language for Infinity Engine is more like Basic, not Java. And it's some pretty bad Basic so to say - not all things are covered, and for many things you have to use spells because there is no script command.

Anyway, to "hide" lousy AI they've made, inside the scripting language are included commands that force things that shouldn't be possible. In fact things that are not by the rules. That's why you may see casting of idiotic spells on you when you're protected from those - a thing you'd never do by yourself.

So, you can't say it's not possible. But you can say it's not fair.

Hmm, I thought it would be c++, but I never actually researched which language it was written in.
Still, I'm convinced that a lot of bugs could have been prevented by building the program more structured...
