AuraPsi of Ice Winds has interviewed Jason Manley, the artist who worked on most of the beautiful art you've seen throughout Icewind Dale.
The (new) interview focuses on the upcoming Icewind Dale expansion dubbed Heart of Winter and (of course), Jason's involvement in it:

Can you explain what your position is on this project? Can we expect any more portraits to be included?
I am doing the majority of the area and character concepts for the expansion. I work closely with the designers to make images of their ideas that not only show level layout and lighting but also set the mood for each of the areas. I try to unify the project visually before anything gets built, textured and lit. That helps us keep the look and feel cohesive. The other artists are doing a really good job improving my concepts in their final renders as well. I have had a great time with this project and will see if I can get some stuff to the web guys for you all to see.

I will be doing a bunch of portraits such as a cursed/undead fighter, Barbarian, and Barbarian Shaman/Priest. I want to make some more rougher looking characters that look like they lived their whole life in the harshness of the Dale.
