Bad enough they included Sarevok as an NPC, but I don't believe they should include Irenicus. Besides... he got consumed into the fiery pit of hell (that's just my personal opinion ofcourse... everyone has the right to one).

Jon Irenicus wasn't a child of Bhaal. He should stay right where he belongs, in Hell.

Sarevok's kin, Irenicus is some punk who stole your soul! No way any PC would want some snake like that in their party :D

Can't argue with that, and I sure enjoyed killing them both again in that first testing room in the abyss :D
Although I was quite disappointed at how weak they were....

Ehh, it's all randomized. I've gotten quite a few:

    Jon Irenicus
    Ellesime
    Bodhi
    Aran Linvail
    Some Knight Guy
    Renal Bloodscalp (I think)

Anyway, it's supposed to be people from your past.

I wouldn't like to have Irenicus in my party. To put it short he's a cowardly asshole. "Die ever pathetic ever fools". Sure, but then who was the first one to escape a fight cause he suddenly remembered that 'he didn't turn off the oven' ;) Oh and he's a stupid psycho too.

Sarevok on the other hand is a pragmatic type of guy, he can understand that there is no power for him to be had and he just wants to be close to see the prophecy coming true.

No, no, I'd have to disagree with that last statement about Sarevok. He is definately still interested in power, he just has the wisdom to see that his best chance of gaining it is in my wake. Obviously smarter than he looks ;)

[IMG] I noticed that I got a slew of negative-alignment monsters when entering the first room as a good aligned fighter. Then later as a lawful evil monk I got a multitude of people from the past of the game. Aran Linvail, Ellisime, even some dude from BG1.

I have to agree that Sarevok is in it for more power. He is eager to encourage you to take the godhood after beating the priestess-godling at the end of the game. He would be entirely happy to be your right-hand man I am sure for the ability to possess some type of power.

I didnt choose to take the godhood, so I dont know what he would say if you did choose to take it.

My reply isn't really from a pure "game" point of view, but from a "story" one. Even if given the chance, I don't think Irenicus would join the party. He and Bodhi are in my opinion, irredeemable. Its likely someone might be able to hack around the system and have him included, just to see how things might work but I for one am glad Black Isle didn't. I feel it would compromise the story. Its probably cause I've been a DM way back when AD&D was still pen, paper and funny looking dice, but Interplay has been creating wonderful stories and adventures for all of us, and this is a strength that some overlook. Sarevok made sense, and throughout the game (I haven't finished ToB yet) I get the uneasy feeling that maybe he would turn on me or worse. Jon and Bodhi are chapters closed, something our heroes would look back on. They suddenly make those experience points a lot mor meaningful. :)
