    Why do mages max out before level 20? The manual claims that exp. 2,950,000 is reached at level 20... you can cast level 9 spells before then.

    Where is the shield of Balduran

    Not true. The manual states 3,000,000 is the experience necessary for a mage to reach level 18, and it is at level 18 that you get your first level 9 spell slot.

    The Shield of Balduran is sold by one of the "extra" merchants.

    so it is impossible to learn lvl9 spell while playing a mage and ye can only cast those from scrolls?

    btw in ToB, will there be 9+ levels of spell or ye'll be limited to more lvl9's?

    Without an experience cap remover, yes, you can never learn 9th level spells, though you can copy them to your spellbook.

    In AD&D level 9 is the highest level for mage spells.

    Yes his HP is 90.

    No, not CTRL+Q (I don't even know what's that and how to use it) - this info I got from hex editor. You know, that's utility responsible for my "Idiot of the week" plaque.
