Well, in light of Takara's run in with MS, I got to thinking. If I were to become incapacitated either through death, illness, or accident; I would want the online community(s) I'm a member of to know what happened to me. I mean, look what happened to some of our former SP members and even an admin!

I for one want my story of demise, whether temporary or permanent, to be known by others, so no one have to wonder, "Gee, what happened to Kitrax?"

So here is what I am going to do about it. Since I currently don't have an actual 'will' (yet)...I have created a M$ Word document named 'If I die'. In it, there are all the links to the online communities, usernames and passwords for each one, and brief instructs for whoever finds it to go to each link and tell my story of demise.

I have also printed up two copies of it and placed them in boxes of my personal stuff that would eventually be sorted though if I ever died.

During these times, one can never be too cautious. And I suggest that all SP members do the same. :rolling:

That is quite a good idea, a nice safety precaution.
It would be unfortunate if anyone of us at SP fell ill with some sort of malady. And nobody knows that I go to SP (i haven't told anyone)... luckily for me, my best friend knows all my passwords to everything I have, so I'm sure he would do me justice and post on here.

But hope (or pray if you do) that none of the rest of us get injured or diseased, etc, and that Takara makes it back soon (January isn't that far off :) )

It's a good idea, but unfortunately one that tends to be abused by some disturbed people. We've had a few cases of people supposedly dying or commiting suicide happen to members who otherwise had completely normal posts (for the most part), and then had their relatives or friends come post about it here... Unfortunately, every single one of those turned out to be a fraud by those same members who got some perverted pleasure from the attention their fraudulent demise has caused.

So any time anything remotely similar appears here on the boards, all the mods are on alert, because it's highly likely to be a scam. Most people wouldn't even think that some people are sick enough to pull stunts like that, but unfortunately we've seen it all already.

Just tell one of your friends or family beforehand that in the case you die, let the boards know. I for one will never do that though, because no one would care.

Meh. No sickness could ever keep me away from my beloved SP, and if I ever die, I'll let you know beforehand and you can watch it on the news. :hahaerr:

Death won't stop me from posting here (well, it probably would, but that sounds cooler).

    "How macabre."

(Does anyone remember where this quote's from? I'm sure it was a movie, but I cannot even remember the context)

    Death, eh? Interesting topic.

Well, I know that if I was told I had some terminal disease, I would  at first, them I'd find the biggest bowl I can find, stuff it full o' opium, and smoke to death. If I can do it while playing Xbox, eating pizza, drinking VS cognac, and enjoying... err... well, carnal pleasures, all the better.

But in the eventuality I couldn't possibly post about it... well, I just don't know. Unless you live ridiculously close to where I live, and read the newspapers, likely my own death won't cause much fuss. And I doubt many people would care... However, Ofelix would probably the first one to know about it... he knows my own real name.

Well, I promised hubby that if I die before him, I will haunt him until he dies. I'll make a note to haunt BoM, too.

EDIT: I must learn to stick with the funny. :heh:

Hmm, this does all seem a bit morbid. Sorry folks, but if anything happens to me, there are a whole chain of other more important affairs that would need to be settled, long before 'letting SP know' came to the top of the list.......

Only illness I got, is my addiction to SP. I wasn't able to get online for a while (and still have troubles) and so I started shaking, sweating, throbbing, foam in my mouth, I couldn't swallow.
My family started a jihad against Taluntain, they are quite sure this place is a den of evil, a sect with a leader out to the mental destruction of all its members.
You all know they are right!

    Seriously though (a little):
If anything happens to me, I guess Faragon will find out somehow and tell you guys.
On a second thought, he didn't remember my birthday (not that I know his birthday... but even me asking him to start a HBDay-thread for DR didn't ring a bell!! :p ).
