Basically, What are the ESSENTIAL patches mods etc.

I remember there being some officially unofficial patches or mods by people who worked on the Baldurs Gate.

I installed Baldurs Gate and TotSC, got the latests patch and the direct x patch. Now what should I do?

    thanks for the help!

You really have to decide what you want:

1: Do you have BG2? If then I really recommend you installing that and then use the EasyTutu mod, so to play BG1 TotSC with the BG2 engine. Then you will be able to ad the Gibberling3s tweak pack to your installation.

2: If not, then I at least recommend BG1 NPC Project wich adds loads to the replayability such as romances, quests and loads of banters between the NPCs. This also work with EasyTutu.

3: After these thoughts I would take a look at the PPG modlist for BG 1. There are several addons and so forth you can use. You can find the link at the startpage of Boards of Magic.

    Regards

I do have BG2, but I was a little uncertain of Tutu. Is it really good?

Also, what is Dark Side of the Sword Coast?

Some like the interface of BG some like the interface of BG2. I prefer BG2. Some things are better in BG2 ie the TAB button, wich you get to use via EasyTutu. I recommend it strongly get it at Macreadys here

I don't know anything about The Dark Side. You may have to look at it's homepage

I play with the 3 disc Original Saga and EoU for the ammo stacking.

Like Shaitan, I reccomend Easy Tutu. For me, it makes the game much more pleasant. The TAB button is a perfect example of this.

If you find yourself longing for the original BG look with Tutu, there is a mod that restores the original grey stone look.

If you take the Tutu path, then there are two NPCs that you may be interested in: Finch and Indira. Indira is a Fighter/Mage (which no other NPC is) and Finch is a cleric.

Other than Tutu Tweaks and Tutu NPC Kits, I too would recommend the BG NPC Project. Romances and more banter? Yes please.

Having never played Dark Side of the Sword Coast, I can't advise you there, although I do recall a compatability issue (probably with Tutu).

Just play the game. EoU is good for...well, ease of use, but past that, most mods are made for Tutu. There are a few exceptions at blackwyrmlair.net , and pocketplane.net 's modlist is always a good resource for the IE games.
