Okay, I'm getting to the point in the game where I need to think about installing ToB so there's a nice smooth transition.

However, the last time I tried it the whole thing blew up in my face. The computer uninstalled ToB instead of installing it, then uninstalled SoA and when I reinstalled it and loaded my saved game all of Kelsey's verbal cues weren't working. I assume this is a result of the uninstallation messing things up...however when I tried reinstalling him aswell it didn't fix anything. So I had to reinstall everything and start a new game.

So I guess what I'm asking is, what do I install first, Kelsey ToB (which may already be installed...) or ToB itself. I'd prefer not to have everything blow up on me again.

    Thoughts?

I would recommend uninstalling all mods before ToB. Once they're uninstalled, go ToB, official patch, Baldurdash, and then start installing mods.

Ideally, you install TOB and the official Bioware TOB patch before you put ANY mods on.

In general, when the verbal cues go bad you should select Kelsey and press K. This launches a little "talk fixer" script that should correct the problem (occasionally you need to switch to a record screen or move to another area before everything's back to normal, but it should work.) However, installing TOB or the TOB patch when mods are in place really DOES screw things up very badly.

So, yes, it's best to try to uninstall all your mods, then do the TOB/TOB patch thing, then put the mods back on. Things will be less than ideal, and you'll need to do the talk-fix bit and so forth.

Yes, unfortunately, Bioware didn't do the greatest job with the ToB installer. It does massive overwrites (like TBG mods).

    This is the order:
    SoA
    ToB
    Official Patch
Baldurdash (not required, but most mods use it)
    Non-WeiDU (ie. TBG mods)
WeiDU mods (according to the order in their readme)

Heh, well, not all TBG-based mods necessarily overwrite and one really can't blame Bioware for asserting primacy over the game with their installer. It is a shame that things have to be done the way they have to be done, but it's not too terrible.
