    No. You're a mage now.

Should have waited until later when you got the fighter abilities back. I did other quests first(including the planar sphere just to be sure I didn't get the keep instead of it), then went back and did Nalia's Keep. Now I have both strongholds. But don't worry, you're not missing out. I feel most strongholds(if not all) are overated and are just like familiars: thrown in there to create excitement and add little to the overall experience once they've had their minute in the spotlight.

Of note: a bug caused me to miss the keep the first time. I took Nalia back into my party at the keep, the promptly dismised her and somehow she ended up waiting for my back at the Copper Cornet. When I went back for the reward, she wouldn't offer me the keep. I had to play back through the whole thing again just to get the keep(was I ever mad).

Concerning familiars. My sorc got one, but its really lousy.
I fought a group which had a quite capable minidragon casting useful spells.
    Do they ever gain levels??
My minidragon at least skipped my advance (to 11 I think).

I don't think the players ever get any better, though that would at least make the usefull. Maybe they could also have some usefull/funny dailog like that dragon did, and not the static conversation. I guess I'll never have the answer to that question though as mine was eaten by a rather nasty bioware bug (Yeah!!), but I still kept my Const pts. and extra HP(Double yeah!!).

Sorl: The familiars do not gain levels, but who knows maybe in the next major game...
