i think on my second go through the game i will play as a kensai will this be too similar to my first game that being a half orc barbarian, one thing i want to do is have a go at either dual or multi-classing but having never done this before i m unaware of the merits/drawbacks ,if i do decide to dual at what level is the best time to dual if i dual to a kensai thief will i get the fighter strong hold again cos i thought it was crap or will i get the opertunity to run a thieves guild (this sounds appealing ) all in all any advice would be greatfully appreciated i,the reason i want to be a thief is that i think the thiefs in the game are a little lame yoshis the best and most of us knows what happens to him so which is the way to go
    cheers

Why dont you try a swashbuckler then? Not dual classed. You get a great thaco, awesome ac, and full thief skills. With shadowdragon armor my swashbuckler had a -9 ac, a -12 thaco, and awesome thief skills at the end of the game, only problem (and this is the real challenge of the class) is a lack of hit points.

My recomendation, as I've stated in other posts, is to dual class from a fighter class at level 13. You get an extra weapon prof at 12 and another 1/2 attack at 13. Not to mention, you still have a lot of experience to go at that point. However, if you remove the XP cap, you don't have to worry about anything.
