Well, in the "You just figured the out now?" department, I just found out that a kensai can use darts. My current game has a kensai PC; I mistakenly had him equip some darts, and lo-and-behold, he was able to use them.

Is this a bug? I always assumed that darts were included in the missile weapon restriction. Maybe it's because darts are a thrown weapon, and a kensai can use other throwing weapons that also double as melee (although darts don't fall into this category).

    Comments?

Yeah, I think you're right about that. I believe missile weapons are those weapons that must be thrown using some sort of device (bow & arrows, crossbow & bolts, sling & bullets). The rest --darts, throwing daggers, throwing axes-- are thrown weapons. Can your kensai equip those too, or only darts?

I knew that a kensai could equip weapons that were thrown, such as throwing daggers and throwing axes, but I didn't know about darts. I can only assume that (as was already stated) that a thrown weapon that doesn't use some type of launcher doesn't count as a missile weapon. It doesn't make sense that a dart is considered to be "not a missile weapon", but that appears to be the case.

Well, I did a bit more digging. Apparently, a kensai can't use darts if you have ToB and Baldudash's ToB fixpack installed.

(I know I'm not supposed to discuss ToB in this forum, but I thought it was important to mention it for those people who might read this thread but have both of the above installed, and wonder why they can't use darts.)
Edit: Or the mods could just move this to the ToB forum. Oh wait, they did! :D
